so to start

Quote
next mission date is 9/15

OK so your next mission is convoy escort.
Normal forces.
you will have Gulia on the mission and need to make sure nothing happens to her along with the convoy.
The four Ichizoku are not the most out going so you will want to pick units with this in mind  :lipsrsealed:
the convoy will be a group of wheeled vehicles that will be 4 / 6 ... 5 / 7 on the road.  :police:
these are not milspec vehicles so if the get shot they just may go boom .... big boom ... bad boom
please post forces by 9/7 so that if I have to bring extra toys I can  :smilie_happy_clapping:
All units are in play. Some how I do not think bricks of damaged units would be good for this

more to follow

I would like to see what you all are bringing to this by the 7th so if you need some toys I can bring what you need.

as for other items many things are in the works and will get posted soon.

Tristan Botley stared at the faded paper of the Mercury blueprints Fuka had handed him while she looked on expectantly.

"You know," said Tristan.  "The fact that you have blueprints of the Star League-era Mercury doesn't surprise me.  The fact that you have them in old hardcopies like this is what I find shocking."

"I acquired these when I was still in high school."  Fuka boasted.  "I also have paper blueprints of at least another 40 'Mech frames."  She then pointed out the parts that had been circled in the diagrams.  "These are the bits Hoare-sama needs constructed by your machine shop."

"I still don't understand why Harald doesn't just sell the thing for scrap or hands it over to the Com Guard."  Tristan shook his head.  "No one builds Mercurys anymore except for the Blakists and almost no one drives them any more except for Comstar and the Blakists.  It would take forever to forge these parts with what we have here."

"But it can be done."  Fuka shot back.  "Plus, the Mercury is super-easy to repair due to its modular design.  Once we have the parts, fixing it will be a snap."

"Has the Colonel released the money it will take to accomplish this minor miracle?"  Tristan asked.

"He's ready to."  Fuka responded.  "All you have to do is tell him you'll take the job."

"And what if I say no?"

"The Colonel knows you won't."  Fuka smiled.  "Besides, it won't take away from the gauss slug production you do here.  It's only about 250,000 C-bills to make the parts."

"Fine."  Tristan nodded.  "But don't blame me if these parts aren't enough or they don't fit right."

"Arigato gozaimashita, Botley-sama." Fuka bowed.  "I'll tell the Colonel to give you the money right away."  With that, the young woman left The Kraken's Arms.

At her quarters Fuka will call Tristin. “You may want to speak with the ComGuard commander …. Precentor Wilkes. As I recall one of the units that they sent out on a mission in April they had a Mercury. They might help us as they just might need some parts as well.”

Metalstorm will receive the following message from Harald:

Mr. Corrado,

I am in need of a substantially large favor from you.  I have come into possession of a heavily damaged LCT-5M Locust.  However, in order to repair it, I will require a series of parts that are only produced within the Free Worlds League.  Given what is happening in the Inner Sphere lately, though, I'm sure you realize that acquiring such parts would be quite difficult.

Therefore, I am reaching out to you and your connections to see if you can gather what I need.  In return, our next months' stock of Gauss slug ammo will be made available to you at half off its retail cost.  Colonel Greyjoy will also wire you the money for the parts, half in advance and the other half upon completion of the transaction.

The Ironborn are grateful of all your help in the past and for all our future business ventures.  I look forward to your response.  Thank you.

Chief Warrant Officer Harald Hoare
Chief Technician
The Ironborn

Chief Warrant Officer Harald Hoare

I find your proposal most interesting. I do feel we can do business, but we will need to talk over the fine points of this. I offer that we get together at Dockside in five days. I will make the arrangements for dinner. I will just need to know how many in you party. I look forward to then.

"Yes, thank you Precentor, I'll add these items to the list.  I'll tell you what can be constructed in-house and we can discuss a partnership to go about it.  Good day."
Tristan hung up the phone before heading to see his computer expert, Vernon Wu.
"Vernon," Tristan exclaimed.  "I need you to call up our back-up files from our former connections with Skobel Mechworks.  I need access to all technical data and material regarding the Mercury Battlemech.  Specifically, how they made the components on this list and if we can make them here."
He handed Wu the list of components given to him by Fuka and Precentor Wilkes.  After looking through the list, he responded. "That's a lot of work for an antique, boss."
"Yes, but it's worth trying." said Tristan.  He was about to go on, when a secretary came in.  "Mr. Botley, Harald Hoare is on the phone for you."
"I'll take it in my office."  With that, Tristan left Vernon to his work.

After reaching his office, Tristan picked up the phone.  "Yes, Harald.  What can I do for you?"
"Mr. Corrado is willing to help find the Locust components to fix the 5M.  However, I had to make a deal with him.  One that involves our gauss slug production."
"Oh."  Tristan said incredulously.  "And what might that entail?"
"Well, he's invited me to dinner at Dockside in 5 days."  Harald explained.  "I was wondering if you and your wife could join us?  We can discuss business there."
"My wife is currently in the field."  Tristan replied.  "However, I should be able to attend.  I would also suggest that you bring a certain overly enthusiastic technician of yours with you to this little get together.  I'm sure she'll have plenty to say about not just the Locust, but the Mercury as well."
Harald laughed at that.  "I'll be sure to let her know.  Now, let me tell you what Mr. Corrado wants in return for his help..."

After finishing his conversation with Tristan, Harald called Nicholas.  "Mr. Corrado.  It's CWO Hoare.  We will be a party of four."

I will post my units tomorrow.  Does anyone have any preferences for roles that they want?  I'll bring one eye in the sky.

our packages only move 4/6 and 5/7 on the road and are very fragile. I am reviewing to see what can be kept with the slow convoy and also some assets that can protect at range. I will be posting my forces in a bit.

“I want your best people looking for a way to cut the natural ECM from the Jeido zan'nendatta as the locals call them.” Wilkes informs he technical department. “Now that WoB has shown interest in that area they will be back and we need a way to use our equipment without them messing with us.”
“Sir why do we not do what the Ironborn does, use our running lights?”
“For starters, night Operations second in the caves they would give us away.” He looks at his people. “They did it so we can as well.”
“What about laser like the locals?”
“Only works when you have direct line of sight but is something like the Ironborn light trick that is a fall back.”
“What makes you thing they have a work around?”
“Well they did not use lights. They did for the most part work as one. Yes they are Light of Mankind, the best WoB has but they are not super men and women. So if they found something we can also.” He checks something on his pad. “I also want the production department making more of the micro Sats. They may only last a few orbits but the one we used on this mission helped a lot.”
“Yes sir.”

“Commanders we have been asked to provide security for a convoy of supplies going to Civitas. The four families that control this area keep to themselves for the most part and have done so from the time they were granted Koichizoku status.” Gulia informs the GSF commanders. “I would offer that you choose the proper members from your units for this mission. This is a GSF only mission so the Ghost and ComGuard will not be joining you for this mission.”

“Commanders by request of the Civitas Koichizoku Gulia will be joining you on this mission. You will see that she is kept out of harm’s way.” Jack will speak with every commander of the GSF.

“So the Chiji does not trust the GSF? She needs to send you as a babysitter for them.” Tekada will quip to Gulia as she gets into her battle gear.

At the assembly point Gulia will talk with the mission commander. “I will ride in one of the PC’s.”
“We have orders to keep you safe.”
“I know but I am capable of taking care of myself and want to ride with the ground pounders.”
“Very well.”

as a former tech his piloting should go down first. 4 / 4
but this is your unit so 3 / 5 is the new stats
piloting will have to go down next time as all skills must be within 2 of each other

Didn't see this before posting in the other, was wondering why the date seemed old.

I've had a very very rough set of real life things going on this past month so haven't kept up to date/posted as much as I had planned before everything started going nuts. So I will sum up, and anything that needs to be expanded on, let me know.

Post Previous Mission:
We want to set up sensors and hardlines out of the ECM area so we can get notifications about any goings on at those caverns. Even if we get some false alarms, it will take less personal to deal with that than trying to watch the whole area.

We are learning more about laser coms and now when hearing about ECM heavy areas, won't be caught with a HQ vehicle that can't do anything and serves no purpose. 7 tons of equipment vs little crystals.

Magnetic Pulse Warheads are being added to the to do list. The to do list will be changed up a bit to have "What we are trying to get" and "What we are investigating the manufacture of". I will update this sometime soon.

We'd love to have some training and installation help from the illuminated Ironborn. I say illuminated because while everyone else had a finger up their nose (see 3 turns of trying to communicate for 1 pair), they actually acted competently.

There are some other things of interest, but like I said, RL swamp over here.

Pre Mission:
Mission is escort of 4/6 vehicles and/or mechs. So, I plan to field the following:

Mech 1:
- Rangoric in a MAD-5S MV 4/6 (hard to keep up, but vehicles can't go full bore due to turns/etc so I figure it will be fine)
Mech 2:
- Hermes in a HER-4S MV 9/14(18 MASC) (can keep up while walking :) )
Vehicle:
- NYYRIKK in the Hawk Moth
Infantry:
- Aether in the Karnov
- 1 Unit Grey Death Standard with MG
- 1 Unit Grey Death Standard with LRR

If we know the route we plan to take, I'd like to do a sim run where we try and figure out the best ambush points, see which fit the pattern we've seen so far, then see if there are any locals that can give some intel on those areas. Specifically, they seem to like areas with crap communications. If this is too involved for now, that's fine.

“I’m sorry Mr. Botly but Mr. Corado is out of the office at this time, may I be of some help.”
“I was just calling to inform him that we will be four for our meeting.”
“Verry good Mr. Botley I will see that everything is taken care of. Have a great day.”
