You want covert? This is one of the few military vehicles that can be shipped in a 10-ton shipping container. Ship a few crates by parcel post, bribe the customs guys so they don't look inside, and have them delivered to a perfectly legitimate address out in the country somewhere. Presto, you've got your recon assets onplanet weeks or possibly even months ahead of your planned assault. O0
Send in a few of them with the crews, and mark it all as "Circus Equipment."

Speaking of infantry, remember that there are exactly five canon infantry(BA included) units in the whole game that can even TRY to shoot at you, so feel free to shoot the crap out of everyone else with impunity. Why no, taking a 'Mechbuster-SRM out Toad-popping is not cheating. >:D

(For the curious, the five in question are the two artillery and two AA platoons in 3085, and the Centuar BA in3145. No other infantry or BA is allowed to even attempt to-hit rolls against flying aeros. Have fun.)
There's actually 5 in TRO:3085, the complete list (For those interested):

Mechanized Field Artillery (pg.195)
Missile Artillery Infantry (pg.199)
AA Jump Infantry (pg.201)
AA Mechanized Infantry (pg.211)
Field Gun Infantry (pg.215)

This last is the one Weirdo forgot and is the nastiest, it gets 6 attacks

It can't. Not an AA weapon, and not artillery. You MUST have one of those two in order for infantry to shoot at aeros.

Yeah, I think the discussion on it before was that it could not load flak ammo . . .

. . . why not? *wave hand*  Cause.

They aren't on Swift Winds either. Don't start that again.

I have a reasonable question.

If the Swift Wind still being produced?  I know it's a cheap unit, but with technology changes, and shifts in warfare thinking.  did the the Shift Wind survive till 3145 as a unit produced?  Anything available unless it's been given the crimson extinction/obsolete trait.

MUL says so, yes.

Interestingly, going by that it's still a "Capellans and their allies" design even after all those years. No shopping around for Swift Winds on the general Inner Sphere market, then.

I figure that one can have most nations using the Swift Wind, simply because the unit is relatively simple, so the unit can be used represent copies with similar performance and function.
I noted the official known users and speculated on others in the article (like St. Ives selling them to FedCom possibly).

It should be noted that Mechwarrior 4 (Vengeance/Mercenaries both) featured the unit for both halves of FedCom. Though not canon, i had the game in mind when i wrote my speculation. Damn escort missions... pretty sure i stomped the Swift Wind i was escorting at least once...

I highly doubt the Death Commandos are the ones driving this around...how much in the way of resources the State poured into his training, and how rare people of his caliber are in the Confederation...
A "Death Commando Trainee" is still technically a Death Commando. If you want to Min/Max the BV Drive-6 Gunnery-8, It's not like you'r trying to actually hit anything "just drive over there, and fast". Yea he's no "elite" driver.

Sadly answering "yes' to "did you reach the target area" pretty much means answering 'No' to at least one of those questions..
You also have to ask "did any of the Mechs/Vehicles in the target area have LPLs!" (Clan or IS & it's gonna hurt!) Never send them to bomb a Battle Cobra! I never used CFs myself, always took ASF if AS was being used.
