AFFS HC Presents on Sffy:  OCTOPUS REX!

A really bad creature feature, sounds like fun.

Oh, and because of a lack of communication, I won't get my stuff until Tuesday. . .

And classes start Monday.  [tickedoff]

So a couple of months ago the wife and I decided to instill austerity measures and dump some struggling mutual funds in order to refinance a condo home neither of want and we really can't fit into when we have another child.  That process was meant to culiminate on Friday with us closing on our refinancing.  One problem, the title company's notary never showed up at the appointment so we didn't close; we waited three hours for an appointment that had already been delayed by two hours.  Our best guess is that the refinance package goes back to the underwriters for another attempt.  Who knows when that will get done but I'll be curious as to what the bank says on Monday.

How's everyone's weekend going?

Spent the day cleaning the yard of anything that could be picked up by possible hurricane winds, then putting up hurricane shutters. I'm tired, sore and have to finish up tomorrow.....

Spent much of the past few days at the Minnesota State Fair.  And I picked up Era Report 2750 at the best Game Shop in Minnesota.

Looks like we've dodged Issac, but New Orleans is now the target.....  #P. ANyone in the area might want to get the hell out of there --- its going to grind its way into the Louisanna area.....

Ah, joyful.  I'm sure we'll end up with some of the outskirts where I'm at.  I remember the same thing happening back in '08 or '09, with Gustav.  Had a whole lot of fun one Friday PT session out running in those outskirts.  Would've been better if I'd had gills though.

Best wishes to all in the danger zone.  The weather isn't all bad though, rain here over the weekend has started to bring life back into my lawn.  I may have to mow a third time this summer after all.

No.  It's on Snelling Avenue between the State Fair Grounds (they're huge) and State Route 36.  Almost all of my new-bought stuff from 2000-2006 came from there.  Here's the website

If you're Isaac's way, all the best guys.
Delivered from the blast,

And now the kingdom comes;
crashing down undone,
And I am a master of a nothing place,
Of recoil and grace.

I don't agree with all of his picks.  Washington/Jackson/TR in the final 3.

Interesting.

Both my neighbors across the street have political-style signs in their front yards - facing me - that say "Be Bully Free."  Everytime I look across the street, I think, "boy, I feel awfully pressured at the moment."  ^-^

Fun stuff.  I'd have to go with Teddy.  They forgot to mention his expedition to the Amazon after his presidency.  He was as tough as they come.

I wonder who'd win in a contest of various strengths between Teddy Roosevelt and Winston Churchill?

Well if test crickett had 'racing presidents' a la the Nationals during whatever constitutes a fourth inning then I suspect Churchill would beat Teddy (currently below 0-500) in a footrace.

I do recognize that sentence may have made no sense what so ever as I attempt to cross international sport culture.
