questions re: Wolverine II mini
« on: 31 March 2011, 04:16:20 »
Hi, can anyone tell me how many pieces the new Wolverine II mini  20-5004  comes in please.

looking at the photos, my guess is 4 min.  Legs + Hips, 2 Arms, Upper Torso.  possibly head mounted laser ?

also how tall is it compared to the old 3025 Wolverine or the resculpted Archer ?

thanks in advance.

IIRC it's 5 pieces: torso, 2 arms, legs and then the lower leg

it is just as tall as the old and new Wolverine Minis and while not lead brick thick, its limbs are thicker then the reseen Wolverine.  a nice comprimise between Old and New

My Wolverine II is a little taller than the old unseen Wolverine, and about the same height (though much thicker!) than the new reseen Wolverine.

One of the best minis I've seen in a while. I just want some new official super-charged stats.

Strip out AC5 and replace with Large Laser and heatsinks. Sacrifice some range and gets ome heat build up in exchange for losing an ammo-based weapon and a higer damge potential.

see you do that, and you lose the wolverine feel (which i guess is a little silly since i love the PP wolverine 8k but...). i actually like the weapons load out, it's actually fun as hell to use, and it's impressive how tough it is

Yeah, plus the Ultra AC/5 isn't all that bad.  Wolverine could potentially do 28 points of damage!  And not suffer from any heat issues...

Nah, there was a 3025 Wolvie with a large laser (Kurita model, I think? Books aren't handy). So a large laser refit isn't out of the ordinary.

yeah but the point of Wolverine II was that it ran cool as a cucumber and was tough as hell, so that when other mechs were starting to suffer from heat this one would keep going and going.

And then run out of ammo, becoming just as useless as the overheated opponents... ::)

40 rounds of AC 5, plenty for extended engagments.

this thing has loads of ammo, if you run out you're doing something wrong.

yes, you should only double tap when your TN is like 6 or 7.

I don't have the new Wolverine but I do have the old one, so a good idea of the size now.  thank you.

I try to double tap as often as possible. Unless it's an UAC/20, in which case, I wait for those 6s and 7s. The 5'r isn't so horrible, but I'd prefer a LL myself.
