Any SI in the 3000-3030 era ?
« on: 13 July 2018, 09:55:23 »
Exist any fandom about an SI in the 3000 - 3030 era?
Someone that is 'a bit nerd' about BT with a tablet / laptop with plenty of data on 'interesting' places.... like Helm, Nautilus or New Dallas, for example.
But, not working for any great state - independent merc / or minor periphery power.

Pardon my ignorance but what the heck is 'SI'? In this case I know it's not structural integrity,

It's "self-insertion" fiction -

Yep, something like the excellent This Was Easier in the Tabletop - Chris OFarrel - but unlike going / inserted in one of the big Houses, do that for one of the Periphery or a independent (small, unknown, poor) merc unit.

Try Drakensis' 'Davion and Davion (Deceased)'.  It's set in the SL-era.  Really good - easily a match for Master Arimas' work.

Try ourbattletech downloads, as well - the last Cameron series and Kepteyn Universe books aren't SIs, but still really good.

There's been a small rush of them lately based on the create your own adventure document posted a few months ago by Fitzgerald, which allows for randomised starting points and resources.

I would recommend False Prophets and Tell The World That We Tried which both start in 3015. The first follows a young ComGuards Adept as she re-establishes her family's Dalian Tigers mercenary company and the second follows an Outworlds Alliance native forging her own Blackwings regiment.
