Background - The Succession Wars were brutal on all fronts and fusion engines were in short supply, this led to a reevaluation of fusion powered combat vehicles. Many of these saw their engines stripped away to power Battlemechs instead. Those that remained were fortified and that was true for the 'Tracked Awesome' known as the Schreck. With its triple PPCs this combat vehicle drew a lot of enemy attention that they were unable to withstand. The LCCC thus modified many of their Schrecks turning them into 'Tracked Marauders' instead and using the one PPC removed to supplement their limited supply while safeguarding the increasingly valuable fusion engines that powered them.

Description - This Schreck's central Kreuss PPC has been removed and an Oriente Autocannon identical to that of the Hermes II has been installed in its place along with two tons of ammunition. It is common for one of these to be flak ammunition in order to protect the Furcht's unit from aerospace threat or helicopters. Due to removing the additional heat sinks the Arcshield VII Mark 5 armoring has been doubled making the Furcht incredibly well-protected even on a modern battlefield.
Variants - There are two variants of the Furcht, both of which adjust the central autocannon. One replaces it with a Mydron Excel 5SG LBX-5 autocannon increasing its threat range and adding cluster rounds which are particularly useful against increasingly capable and abundant VTOL and hover tanks armed with long range weapons such as a Light Gauss Rifle. The other replaces it with a Mydron Model RD RAC/2 which maintains the same threat range but increases the damage potential within it when firing at full speed although it keeps the same 40 rounds so it must be judicious in its use of ammunition. Both of these were particularly effective during the Marik Civil War that occurred during the Dark Days of the Jihad.
