An unexpected story about a Manei Domini showing some humanity.
Interesting, looking forward to more. :smilie_party_cheers:
The hardest part of writing this chapter for me was Corden's interaction with Deback.  I wanted to know if it was believeable and the people that were helping me edit this thing never made it this far.  So I had to forge ahead back weeks ago and hope it worked out to most people.    It seems plausible given the psychological cues and suffering Deback had experienced, that the little compassion shown by Corden might "convert him".  So I have to ask anyone seeing this.  Was the scene believable?

That aside, from my research into the manei domini.  Yeah, they are ammoral, but they are humans that believe in a cause set forth by The Master.  Apollyon definitely had this temperment where their actions in his eyes were for the betterment of humanity and he did feel some kind of remorse for those sacrificed, but the end goal was always the key and damn anyone in their way.  Quest for Jardine gave me a better understanding of this notion.  I think people don't give credit to the WoB as much as they should.  I have found them an interesting study on why and what they did for what reason.  I adopted them for my main mech force because I was going to originally do RotS but saw it was going to get ilclanned.    So I adopt the ones that "killed" the setting in a way then find out there is a little bit more to them under the robes.

Kanazuchi Support manages 20 to 9 hexes.

Hmm, both of those are restricted to missiles with very low ammo counts.

They have exactly as much missiles as a good opponent will let you fire, if not a bit more.

We already have humans in the BTU living far longer than the average rl human (when they are not KIA or assassinated anyway) It's not that hard to believe that healthcare included life long treatments over the course of generations to humans can colonize the stars without dying once they get to not Earth. In fact, it makes the development of Mar, Venus and the Belt make even more sense as a 'backyard' testing ground for Terra while reaching further and further.

What if there was a back-door override that had been kept in the programming for centuries and no one ever thought about addressing or cutting it out, or when they did it caused the system to fail?  I give them a little fluff about how their targeting systems seem to cycle unusually as they approach the field.

Before I got this information, I was going to treat them like the Beginner Box in a way.  Basically, any through-Armor hit would cause the hologram to disappear as a kill.  So wiping out the Armor normally or getting a TAC.

If anyone asks about it, I'd have them do a PSR to try and figure it out.  Maybe give them a bonus for the same conditions as The Fall of Terra's standard.

Part of the story was that the Clanners scored far higher than the Spheroid commander would like, which means they engaged them pretty effectively and thoroughly instead of focusing on their original prey.

Of course, they could have just considered it another challenge and ran with it, too.  Clanners be weird, after all.

As a player, I'd be totally down with that.

It seems like a new round of adjustments is going through. My big pledge is now showing the amount that I was given during spot checks. not sure how wide the changes are as of yet.

Same, mine just dropped $65+ down to the spot checked amount of $395 instead of $461.
