And we don't know which ending is the one in the show's timeline.

Though honestly I think that the weirdest part in the show was reestablishing both the Enclave and the Brotherhood as dominant powers in the region.

I don't remember, maybe support was using field artillery for more of a heavy punch.  But I could see the cost being a large problem.

As I'm a huge fan of Compact Gyros, I have to go Armored by default.

Not to say HD doesn't have its uses.  Just that I prefer Compact for the crit space so I have to go Armored as well.

What are Mortars classified as?  (I don't recall)

Support Weapons
Field Guns
Field Artillery

As for the Field Artillery, I was think of something more like a heavy mortar platoon to support the infantry.

You know, just yesterday I was thinking about attaching a squad of mag-clamp BA to a platoon of PBI.

The BA would be the shock force to the rest of your infantry, great idea.

This is basically how I imagine them operating as "Space" Marines in my comments above.
A squad to breach the door & take enemy fire from small arms followed by a full platoon of PBI Marines behind them.
You get some Armor to protect the fleshies but also get plenty of eyes/hands to watch the captives, zip tie them, or take over controls of the captured ship.

I like FA, but, it does have some limitations.

1.  Max of 1MP
2.  Limit of 1 Gun Tube w/ 1 Ton of Ammo
3.  Only 2 CBT & 3 AS "canon" platoons to choose from.  (None of them are LongToms)
4.  Can't Shoot & Move?  Not sure on this actually.

And frankly the "feel" of a single "Howitzer" being attached to a company feels weird from a TO&E perspective.
I have trouble having a Company of FA in a Battalion as that is still only 3-4 guns based on Guns/Platoon.

FA really feels like something that should be organized on a full battalion level to total up to like 2 "batteries".

Which is not to say I don't like it, just not sure I'd organize it as a "Heavy Weapons Platoon"
Stuff like Field Guns or just long range Support Weapons feel better in that role to me.

FA is quite expensive in BV on an "Infantry" scale of BV yet crazy cheap compared to Mech/Tank based alternatives.
