Standard 'mech hit chart. Any time you roll a leg hit, roll 1d6. If the shot would use the left side chart, apply a -1 modifier. If the right, apply a +1.

0-2 = Left Leg
3-4 = Center Leg
5-7 = Right Leg

The full info can be found on pages 250-251 of FM: 3145.

Good luck! O0

The rules and blank record sheets are in Field Manual: 3145.  The Ares Record sheets are in TRO:3145 Republic of the Sphere and RS:3145 Unabridged.

I don't know. yet. I do know that I am facing 7 mech 450 combined tons and the slowest goes 4/6. not looking forward to that. my objective is to demonstrate the awesome power of the Ares and create a rep for the Ares by killing at least three mechs. the opfor goal is to identify the Ares and to disable or capture.

Sounds fun!

Some advice: The Ares's power is not actually that much more than traditional assault 'mechs, so don't expect it to crush enemies just by looking at them. It'll draw a lot more firepower than it'll dish out, so use it as a decoy. Drive it defensively and use cover whenever possible(difficult due to the great height, I know) to keep it alive as long as you can, and use that time to maneuver your faster stuff to hit them from the flanks or rear. Those Doloires and Lament are the real firepower of your force, treat them accordingly. Swing them around, and when everyone's still pointed at the Ares, smash them from the other side. >:D

Sounds like fun. :)
Can't tell if I want you to win or loose. Depends on what units you face. If there are some of my designs in the OpFor, I want them to win. :D
