I got this idea from one of the "Scale Auto Enthusiast" compilation magazines. You take a sheet of clear acyclic, assorted sizes of PVC couplers and using PVC pipe cement, glue the couplers to the sheet of acyclic. Then you put your brushes, tools, glues, etc into the couplers. It's been working very well for me so far, though I wish I would have used clear cement, as the stuff I had is old, thick and orange. The cement globbed on the brush and made a slight mess of things--but hey, it was what I had on hand. I already had sheets of acrylic on my tables (I have two, an assembly/sanding table and a painting table), but if you were to buy everything (not including cement) it was $15.
This is a "before" of my painting table.
Another "Before" shot.
Acrylic sheet and some couplers. I advise staging the area and trying to figure out the best way to put everything before you glue.
Brushing on the PVC cement.
Everything glued on and before taping newspaper on.
Everything all ready to go.
This is the finished picture of my assembly table. I didn't take any before pictures.
