Hello guys. I'd always wanted to read an article about my favorite Inner Sphere heavy mech. I'd like to request the all energy Black Knight!

Added to the request list. New page, reposting.
If anyone else has an article ready and wants to reserve a slot, lemme know!

Current Reservations:

Agathos: Axman
cold1: Bowman
Dakkagor: Black Hawk-KU
Dragon Cat: Mercury II (maybe?)
Empyrus: Hauptmann, Sha Yu, Sling
Fallen Raven: Penetrator
Geovanni Blasini: Chaffee, Quasit
Getz: Legacy
GreekFire: (Ostroc+Ostsol), Anubis, Hatamoto-Chi
kotetsu: Vapor Eagle, Rifleman IIC, Warhammer IIC
marauder648: Black Knight, Thug
Moonsword: Templar (maybe?)
The Eagle: Crimson Langur, Charger

Current requests: Brigand, Celerity, Conjurer, Diomede, Hatchetman, Hammerhands, Mortis, Snow Fox

I was cleaning up my MotW stuff on my computer (always keep them in case there's another forum crash...) and I stumbled across an old write-up on the Piranha. Can't find it on here, though...did I not upload it? Weird.

I'd like to do the Black Knight but I doubt I have all the publications with its many many many many variants in it so my data would probably be iffy, hell i'd not even know where to look beyond the basic ones (3050/3025/3145)...hmm..actually..assuming the armour tonnages stay the same I SHOULD be able to do it..I've got the one with the (magnificent) Red Reaper in it, and TRO3050/3025/3145 should give me the armour levels for the designs... I'll give it a bash and see what I come up with :)

The Black Knight would be a massive undertaking with its 15 different variants.
We can work on it together if you'd like; PM me if interested?

If you want to know where to find all of them, just search for the Black Knight in the MUL. It'll list every variant, and clicking on each one tells you where it can be found.

Is anyone dropping a MotW today? I've got the Exhumer/Ninja-To finished up but I'll delay if someone else has something ready.

I'll do a quick filler article for the Parash, its 3 variants (was gonna do the Brigand but I didn't realise there was so many of them!) and then you can post the main article when you get back from your nice and enjoyable weekend :) Also happy birthday! :)

I'll work on the Parash tonight, can't do it at work as I don't have a book with me with its stats but it won't take long to do.

Also useful: Solaris Skunkwerks and Sarna.net.  You can get an idea of basic capabilities, once the Master Unit List gives you operators, the variants that exist, and who used them.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

I am genuinely surprised that no one has done the Hatchetman and Axman yet.

There are a lot of 'Mechs out there. I think that at our current pace it'd probably take us 8+ years to cover everything.

If we could post all of the old write-ups it'd save a lot of time, but that's not always an option. The fan base perpetually changes, and as it does it can become nearly impossible to get proper permission to repost stuff salvaged from the dead forums...and it can be nice to have a new take on an old machine, especially if a bunch of new variants have appeared in the interim.

In an ideal world we'd have a larger roster of regular authors, allowing us to post more write-ups a week. But as of now that's not really possible either...I'd even say we're at a "low" right now.

Well, I guess I've volunteered myself to do one of them. Probably the Axman. That feels like the wrong order, but there are a lot of Hatchetman variants to keep track of. The Axman seems like a gentler place to start.

Calling the Axman "gentle," lol.

Are you going to count the ones in XTRO and TRO: Prototypes?  They're so different that they really don't feel like they count as actual Axman variants.

Hey, no pressure. But to be honest, I'm always happy to see more people at least give it a try.
If you ever have any questions or anything don't hesitate to send a PM my way.

Edit: I'm gonna do the Anubis to finally take it off of the request list.

With the Exhumer/Ninja-To out we're nearing completion of our first TRO! Even if it is a mini-TRO...

The last one left is the Hatamoto-Suna, but I feel like including it as part of a coordinated triple-feature would be pretty cool One person covers the Hatamoto-XX series, one person does the Thug, and a final person does the Charger.  Any takers?

Fine, fine, I'll take the Charger and put the Crimson Langur on the back burner.  Not that I've actually started on it.  My partiality for the -1A5 and -SB are going to come out pretty strong, though...

I've nearly got the article for the Black Hawk-KU done (it really just needs word smithing, as its a bit dry currently).  Is there any rush or should I be aiming to get it up this week?

Then I'll take the Hatamoto if that's fine with everyone.
Coordinate through PMs before posting any of these? I'd like to have them out on the same day, with links in each article to the other two if possible.

I know marauder has his write-up on the Black Knight nearly finished, feel up for putting it out on the 18th?

Wanted to ask, are there any prerequisites for writing MotW Articles, if one were interested in writing one up?
