What happened to the Forum Skin "Battletech 2.0"?
I had been using that skin for a while now. I just reloaded pages and got the default Steel skin.
In all honesty, I like the BT 2.0 skin. Can we get it back?

Working on fixing some things in the back end. It appears re-installing the theme fixed the errors I was seeing out of it.
EDIT: If anyone starts asking about the old faction themes, they weren't working properly (in fact, I don't see their files on the back end) and were removed because of that.
-
Thanks for the quick reply.
-
Having just explained how to get to that theme to someone a day or two ago, I'm very glad to see it back!
Honestly, if there was some way to get the emoticons from that theme ported over to the faction themes, I'd probably use one of those...
-
Will we be getting the dark BattleTech 2.0 theme back at some point?
I'd be happy if nothing else it was just the light gray being made dark gray.
-
I've reinstalled the Republic theme, which is reportedly the dark theme you're looking for.
I can only readily "reinstall" themes for which the back end files still existed. We had a number of "dead" entries (the various House themes are the main ones that come to mind), plus a handful that weren't gone but were throwing errors (Republic, Battletech 2.0, Core). Reinstallation seems to fix those.

Was there a reason BattleTech 2.0 wasn't selected as the default? That would seem to have offered the most continuity from the last iteration of the board...
-
I really don't know anything about that.
-
Roger, thanks for the answer.
I just noticed that the "drool" icon is missing from the 2.0 theme... any idea what happened there?
-
No, although I'm going to run some maintenance over the weekend that may help.
-
Great thanks!
-
Now that I look at the back end settings, it appears that was among the smileys outright removed. I imagine a replacement will turn up eventually, but for a lot of us, it's nice to see the Homer smiley retired to the boards for a nuclear reactor in Springfield.
-
The Homer smiley wasn't the one I was looking for... the old "drool" one implied intense desire for something... I do miss that.
-
I found the image in the site's folders along with all the other MIA smileys. Now that I know where they are, I can restore them in the settings over the weekend.
-
Awesome, thanks! The "thumbs up" one seems to be missing too...
-
Don't worry, it's part of the group I found.
-
Fantastic! I'll cheerfully flip through as many skins as necessary for verification testing, if you need a hand...
-
Guess who's coming to dinner!
:wheelchair: :brew: :smirk:
I'm going to make sure the right smiley is set in all the themes next.
:crash:
EDIT: Yep, we're good.
EDIT 2: Icons were pointing to a different directory in the default theme, which I suspect was the case in some of the others as well. I duplicated the directory so everyone has the same data, and copied the rank images over from the board default theme (BTFactions) into the SMF default so the other themes have access to it, too. That should clean up some of the broken links you guys have been seeing around.

 Sweet!
Thank you Moonsword!
-
Ahhh... I see now... the old typing short cuts don't work (like O0), but the emoticons are back, so I'm not complaining!
-
I didn't know what the old shortcuts were, so it was hard to use them again.
-
Thumbs up used to be: O0 (Captial "O", zero)
Drool was always "", so no change there...
