One foot platoon is 3 tons, one jump platoon is 4 tons and one motorized platoon is 6tons. You can make a few combinations with 7tons infantry bay.

You can also break it in squads depending how you go in more advanced rules

Seven's a fairly odd number.  You can fit most of the same combinations with a 6-ton bay, so I'd be temped to drop a ton off and upgrade the SRM-6 to dual -4s.
