Finished my first ST-1L fighter with RAC 2's in Hell's Black Aces Colors. I think I've finally come to the conclusion that white is as hard to photograph as it is to paint. First time painting flames so tips and crits are extra welcome!

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I went ahead and did the Shilone as well. I think she turned out alright.

Nope, just cut one knee to remove the bend and cut the block off the bottom of the foot. Repositioned the shoulders for a more aggressive stance and cut the elbow to put the right arm in the classic thud firing position.

I was once told that to do flames, you start with yellow in the middle of the flame area..  Brown wash it, then go lighter going in (fading to white) and darker (orange and reds) going out.

That would be the only thing I would have changed.  Your fade is really nice and your colors bright and nice looking.

Great Shilone, although the flames are almost too big for my taste.  If they're gradually increased based on the skill of the pilot, shouldn't they be smaller?

Just a thought.

BTW, I love the Wammy-in-a-red-hangar in the background.  Looks sweet.

shilone's beautiful, my fave aerotech, the scheme screams ring raiders to me, which is a great thing
"I think it was two ninjas taped together to make one giant ninja!"

The First Proserpina Hussars were eager to fight the Smoke Jaguars, but the commanders assigned them to attack worlds held by Clan Nova Cat instead. They faced a hard fight on Kanowit, but took Mualang by winning a round of miniature golf. This obviously minimized further losses.

Major props on the fighters.  Flames are something I've been meaning to try and I promise you that you've done better than I would have.
