The Battle map / mat is already sold out. Any chance for a re-stock? Or alternative place to get it from?

Hi, they are a Catalyst Store exclusive and they are being reordered, with a larger run.

Any chance the 5th one will go up for sale on the CGL online store?

For the time being, it's available only as an agent exclusive OR for purchase a major convention when you buy the other four BattleMats at the same time. Future availability has not been determined.

Time for another Alpha Strike Commander's Edition preview.

Today, S.A.T.O.R.

'The ASCE has reorganized the way the rules are presented to mirror the BattleMech Manual, so that it's both a better tool for beginners to learn from, and a quick and easy reference for veterans.'

I'm fascinated with this JMPS and JMPW mechanic mentioned in the preview page. I like the idea of mirroring the fact that all jump jets are not made equal. If it's something that can be talked about, how do the specials get added to specific 'mechs? Are they codified quirks for certain models whose fluff mentions particularly good or poor jets, or are they based on the sheer number of jets the 'mech carries or some other metric?

It will be detailed in the book, I'm not sure if they're prepared to discuss it yet.

It's basically a reminder to calculate jump TMM based on available jump movement and not on the card-printed TMM (and then also helps calculate it for you).  Most Jenners, for example, will have JMPW because it mounts few enough jump jets that it doesn't have a +4 jumping TMM.  Mechs like the Gyrfalcon or Uziel 8S have JMPS, because their jump jets are enough to get to TMM+2 not just TMM+1.

EDIT: Rather, JMPS and JMPW will *tell* you when to improve or reduce the jump TMM (beyond the normal +1 for jumping) based on more/fewer than walking speed jumpjets.

This was the more elegant way to do it than rework the MUL to generate cards with "X/Y" printed TMMs.

Heh, whoops.

The exact wording of it will definitely be in the book,  mine is a hastily-remembered babbling about it, but that's the basic idea.

House Arano Preview!

House Arano was sent to Print on Demand proofing today so we wanted to share the Table of Contents and a few other pages! Thank you for your patience as we worked to ensure another high-quality product.

In the coming days, we'll do our best to provide updates about the Print on Demand process, leading up to the book's on-sale date. This is the first time we've tried publishing a sourcebook in this manner, so in the spirit of transparency we hope to stay in touch about how the process plays out.

For now, take a look at these pages for a glimpse of what's coming!

How interested are people in the Spotlight series? I ask because I've realized that if and when we jump ahead to 3250, most, if not all, of the units that exist now and are getting Spotlights are going to be gone. Or at the very least their current line-ups will be gone, possibly replaced be a new group calling them selves the same thing, but with no connection to the original group.

Sounds like the Spotlights On would be the perfect product to introduce the new small units then.

And Randall's Facebook just posted pictures of battletech and shadowrun dice bags.

Battletech had battletech, 35th anniversary log, no guts no Galaxy, and an alternate color from what I could see. Plus I spotted an as: commanders edition. It was mentioned to be stuff for origins.
No-Dachi has a counter-argument. Nothing further? Ok.

True, but it's incredibly likely. Or rather from what we know it's incredibly likely.
