Dunno, this story follows the theme "clanners are just only humans, too."
I also couldn't follow the motivation of the protagonist. The more or less imaginary conspiration of all members of her unit and the fast abandonment of the rules and education/indoctrination was IMHO a bit to artificial.

BTW, there is one error: p. 5 (print version)

As per WoK, pg. 46, the usage of "Trial of Abjuration" here is intentional.

When a Clansperson is found guilty of a crime and is sentenced to abjuration, after that moment they have 5 days to depart Clan space or be executed. After being abjured, the accused can declare a Trial of Abjuration to prove their innocence. In essence, a Trial of Abjuration is a special-case version of the Trial of Refusal.
