Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

This seems to be a mismatch between display and search fields in the database:
The Blackjack is shown as "Date Introduced: 2757"
However, if you select by Basic Filters: Intro, you will need to include the year 2771 in the MinIntro/MaxIntro range to display it.

In addition, TRO:SW, p. 68 states:
Quote
Deployment
The Blackjack saw little service with the Star League,
and production soon halted. Relegated to service with
Hegemony planetary militia or sold off to League member
states, the Blackjack can still be found on the battlefield
today.

  • Given that the BJ was in service with Hegemony planetary militias, the 2757 date seems more plausible, there simply were no Hegemony planetary militias left in 2771.
  • According to the TRO:SW statements, availability during the SL era should include
    • Star League Regular
    • Terran Hegemony
    • RWR Terran Corps
    • One or more additional member state(s) (note plural in statement above). The CC seems a likely candidate, as "The majority now serve with the Capellan Confederation and Federated Suns."

During the SL era, the Tracker is at the same time "Extinct" and available for the TH.
According to TRO3057rev, p.186 "several remained in service until the end of the Reunification War [...]", so reports of its demise may have been somewhat premature.

The Leviathan JS is listed as "Extinct" by the Early Succession War and follow-on eras, but one is still in use by Hannibal's Hermits (Mercenaries Supplemental II, p. 44) in 3067. Maybe "Unique" would be a better fit.

The Prairie Schooner and its trailer are each listed twice, once in TRO:VA, once in TP:Irian. Since the two sets show different, but complementary information, they should be merged, not simply one of them deleted. The "Role: Scout" seems to be a strange one for a supersized delivery truck. ;)

The Von Rohrs/Hebis should be extinct in the SL era, the last one was dismantled in 2518 according to TRO3075, p. 208.

And a nitpick especially for GreekFire  ;)
The Thunderbolt TDR-5Sb2 is missing 2 capitalizations in the "Notes" field.

Blackjack: [an old source I did not have access to has contradicting data. Stay tuned]

Tracker: Likely TH was added but extinct was not removed by accident (or extinct was added by mistake). fixed.

Leviathan: not my account, pass

Prairie Schooner: Investigating to figure out which stats are the correct ones

Von Rohrs: That checks out. Extictified. Pretty sure there's a full-page art piece of two Von Rorhs in one of the 1/2 Succession Wars Books. Awkward.

Thunderbolt: Heinous crimes against punctuation have been resolved

Edit: Prairie Schooner records merged, duplicates hidden. Scout will stay on for now - nckestrel is the role master and will pass judgement.

Blackjack: There are two fields for dates - one for a numeric, and one for alphanumeric in case we need to enter Unknown or somesuch.
That's what I meant by "Search" and "Display" fields.

Any comment on the BJ's availabilty during the SL era?

Don't sweat it, I was just unsure if my little experiment with nested lists might have somehow gone awry as you replied to everything else.

the 1X prototype debuted in 2756. there is an old version of the BJ-1's record sheet that has the 2771 date - we're trying to figure out if that's in error or not.

Blackjack: Opted for 2757 as intro.

Leviathan JS: We'll assume Hannibal's Hermits found a repairable derelict craft (or were supplied one by the wobbies). It was then likely destroyed with the rest of the unit during the Jihad.

There shouldn't be any issues, the date remains unchanged from what was previously displayed.

On what? I'm confused. Nothing changed, the public introduction date for the Blackjack is the same as it was before. We just reviewed it to make sure everything worked out the way we wanted it to.

Does it go straight to the list now? When the Scorpion factions were added I noticed those buttons. However, clicking on them took me to the page for the overall era, and THEN I had to scroll down to find my faction of choice and clicking on that took me to the actual list.

You may have said to yourself: Can I navigate between eras of a faction on that factions page? Previously the answer was no (unless you paid very close attention to the numeric codes for eras and manually altered the urls). We've made life easier for those of you who don't want to push the back button

Second - a backend solution for grouping tractors and trailers of trains like the Prairie Schooner turned out to have an unexpected benefit: unit groupings. Previously when you clicked on a unit, only the units with that specific name would appear with it. For example, going to the page for a specific Dragon would only list other Dragons and leave out Grand Dragons. A similar predicament occurred with the Hatamoto family. With unit groupings, all units of the same type now list together.

The Asshur Artillery Spotter was considered a separate unit from the Asshur Reconnaissance Vehicle. Now they all list together. This does not include units that are closely related like the Loki and Loki II. We are currently working internally to figure out which side of the line some groups of units fall on and will post a list of everything that has been linked so far once that work is completed.

Thanks should again be directed to Skyhigh for managing the MUL and implementing changes.

Note that as we wind this thread down and begin chapter 3 that this space really is the best way to get our attention in regard to changes. Sometimes we catch wind of things on other platforms like the big BattleTech discord groups or Facebook, but we're not able to see or field everything out there. Someone on Facebook found a problem with the Falcon's ComStar availability but it only got changed because Hammer saw the comment. We want to be responsive to community requests (even if the response is no) but we do not have enough coverage for all of the communities.
