OK people with the NE crew dropping down for the next mission it will be a 3D game ... no maps.

You the GSF and attached units will be defending a pair of bridges.
You forces will be
1 Mech
1 Armored
1 Infantry
1 Choice
Any units in the field from the last 2 missions are still out in the field so they can not be used. Yes the units from the Hand of the Goddess and Winters Dream are in the field.

work out what you are fielding this will be a good one  >:D

Okay, based on the email earlier, chief, my contribution will be:

Dragon's Clutch
Bandit (A) with 2 squads Raiden battle armor (1 internal, 1 external)
Griffin IIC (Chu-i Miyamoto Musashi)
Goblin with 1 Squad Kage Armor (Light TAG, hope someone will have artillery)

Rhodes Warriors
Hellhound - Tai-i Neville Rhodes
Blackjack Omnimech (A, modified)
Donar

Bully has to add infantry at some point...

Sgt. Tan in the Kestrel is nearby (to send complete battle footage back to the Musashi estate, and to Medevac as needed): internal master code keys have been changed (shouldn't affect communication with other GSF forces, this is purely an internal change).

well that was one hell of a surprise to read all at once... :yikes:

Jim, ride is much appreciated, however no longer needed.

Just found out my sister is willing to let me use her car (when did hell freeze over???  :o) and with the Huntington Fall Festival and Columbus day parade happening tomorrow, (well today now) REALLY don't want you to get stuck in the mess that will be traffic here; since you don't know the back roads, you'll end up stuck here till the late afternoon if you try to show up at noon.  I will call you in the morning to make sure you are aware of this change.

Sooooo... game stuff.

1) I never saw ANYTHING indicating I was invited to the meeting... so I was not there, and ogre's comment directed to me should be re-worded to that effect.
2) HOLY HAND GRENADE OF ANTIOCH Why did I find out about this mech explosion from THE FRIGGIN NEWS REPORTER CALLING TO ASK ME TO COMMENT ON IT?!?!!
3) does anyone actually let me know about the results of the meeting before the actions of tomorrow's game occur?
4) unit mix for the game will have to be determined upon arrival, need to ask a few questions first and can't check the boards tomorrow before I leave for the game (mostly cause I don't want to give my sister time to second guess letting me use her car :ugly_stupid:)
5) If I am appraised of the meeting, the exterminator and the type of mech involved in the explosion, have some actions that will be taken;
     a)  start looking through my database for more info on exterminators
     b)  pull up records on wobbly or Kurita war of 3039 (do I have the year right on that?  the one where comstar gave kurita  some of their mechs, including chameleons to hit Davion) chameleon mods from my FWL classified database
     c)  put my unit on upgraded threat potential status with regards to any interaction with the arkab and alert 2 status for unit and facility security in order to scan for potential breaches by stealth units using secondary sighting methods such as gravitics, image mapping and vibration sensors, etc
     d) is it possible to set my owens ecm units to filter any jamming by the exterminators since I have a recording of said jamming from the previous mission when we escorted them to the dropship which my ecm guys can study in detail?

see you at the game

Battle Report (Encrypted per orders)

From: Sergeant Anya Tereshskaya
To: Colonel Euron Greyjoy
Cc: Defense of Bridgehead

The battle for the bridges is over.  Our forces held.  It was not without casualties, however.  The Dragon's Clutch lost a Goblin tank and the FRR unit lost the use of it's Marauder for the forseeable future.  Lieutenant Blacktyde's Hammer suffered moderate damage.  On the other hand, the Black Dragons have lost 3 'Mechs and one of their most fanatical officers.
The more disturbing threat, though, came from the reappearance of the Raven 'Mech you ordered a Priority Absolute against.  We were unable to fulfill your standing order regarding this 'Mech and we all must beg forgiveness for that, but I have a theory regarding the Raven we sighted and the one you've been looking for and believe it was possible that this is NOT the same Raven we've faced before.  For one, it did not have it usual entourage with it (ie. the Warhammer, Clint, and Firestarter 'Mechs).  It was instead accompanied by a Marauder, a Phoenix Hawk, a Javelin, and a Stinger (the last two of which were destroyed by a combination of the Arkab, Com Guard and Hands of the Goddess forces).  Second, while the first force usually disrupts our comms with that annoying pop idol music, the force we encountered tortured us with incessant bagpipe music and Scottish-accented sound bites.  This makes me believe that there is, in fact, a SECOND Raven 'Mech at large on this planet and the possibility that one of our enemies has hired the services of a contingent of the Northwind Highlanders.  We also encountered an allied force from the Nakazawa clan who we originally mistook for enemies, but eventually realized our error, although, honestly, I've no idea what they were thinking sending 4 men on hoverbikes into a combined 'Mech and tank battle.  We may want to look into this given a chance.  The Black Dragons were driven away and the suspected "Highlanders" retreated as soon as the BlackDracs bugged out.  If my theory is right, our enemies continue to multiply and we still have no means of striking back, especially if we now have TWO ELINT 'Mechs to deal with.  This concludes my report.

Sgt. Anya Tereshskaya.

OOC: Anthony, two questions.  1) Has Jack gotten back to Euron with info on the Tokugawa tanks the BlackDracs used on us two games ago?  2) Tell me when Fuka is ready to speak with Euron and Julia and what she has to say about the 'Mechs they've been trying to trace.

There may only be one Raven; the choice of music may have been a false-flag to hide their numbers.

I'm glad I  am not the representative sent to inform and brief Chu-i Thorne, XO of the Arkab Harib on his new status, nor

his reply, once he gets laughing with tears streaming down his face from laughing so hard lighting a cigar from his battle

armor's flamer, just returned from a fruitless spelunking.

"Inform everyone, from the Tai-sho herself,  to Jack, to the DCA, and the GSF merchants playing as  part time warriors.

To A MAN(capitalized for emphasis only, "man" from greek for "anthropos"-mankind) This Infantry  company with combat

engineers VOLUNTEERED to accompany Tai-i Koger here because we owe the Tai sho an honor debt, instead taking leave

as requested by the council, for saving our asses on REDACTED* in REDACTED* from REDACTED a hide bound fanatical

follower of the old ways. Hai! He walks the edge, this whole unit does. We were overrun and forced from our base. Lost

our Commander to a direct hit, the XO to an ammo explosion. Then our CO pro-tem upon arriving here, granted his

arabic hot blood was boiling and loss face. Was he given chance to apologize? repent? atone? NOPE! Wouldn't you? If

Tai-i Koger goes, we go,"pointing with emphasis to all the returning Infantry soldiers and engineers standing at parade

rest behind Chu-i Thorne in silent company formation still in their gear." AND when the Arkab jockey's hear about my

answer I have a feeling they will back us up. Almost to a fault we are fanatically loyal. Tai-i Kogers ways are hard, nigh

impossible to understand for the uninitiated but if you check the records, he is the first with boots on the ground and

last off, and we ALL return to the Oasis. Dead or Alive, higher percentage alive than dead."

CWO Hoare keeps an eye on Fuka as she finishes her work on the units Grand Dragon ‘Mech. She has just finished his latest tests he had setup for her. “You did well in finding the bugs I put in the leg actuators.”
“Thank You sir.” Fuke looks back at her new boss. “Anything more sir?”
“Yes, I want you to take it out for a test drive. After all you will need to make sure that you have fixed all the problems.”
“Yes Sir.” The sparkle in her eyes is as bright as a super nova.
“Take it over to the training area and let’s see what the old girls has in her.” He hands her a helmet and vest.
Fuka runs into the wash room to get cleaned up and stripped down so she can pilot the Grand Dragon. She climbs into the ‘Mech and runs the pre-start she is like a school girl on her first date. After she is done with the pre-start she turns on the 60 tonner and it fires right up and she has green lights down the board. Hoare is watching on the ground and thinks how good this kid is, she even found the bug he planted in the gyro when he had her working on the left leg. With the heavy “Mech now up and running Fuka notices that the ammo bins are loaded and with live ammo. Over the comms she calls down to Hoare. “Sir this ‘Mech has live ammo.”
“Yes it does. We are in a hot combat zone and at any time a unit can get pressed into service. Also did I not say we were going to put the old girl through her paces?”
“Yes, you did say you wanted to see what she could do.”
“OK then, take her out to the obstacle course and let’s see how she handles and then to the firing range to make sure the weapons work.”
Fuke adds power and starts to move the Grand Dragon out to the teat range. She is surprised at how easy it moves compared to the WorkerMechs she has piloted before. After getting a feel for the ‘Mech she heads to the track to give it a good run. The ‘Mech handles well and she gives it all she can. In the control area of the testing area Hoare is impressed by how well she handles the big machine. Others that are around are also watching as the Grand Dragon moves with grace “OK that is good. Now take it to the range so we can make sure the weapons work also.”
“Roger that sir.” She heads the Grand Dragon over to the weapons range. When she gets to the range she settles into one of the slots and waits.
“OK Fuka first some static targets.” Hoare starts up the range. “After that you will have some moving targets and last off I want you to move and fire at the targets that pop up. We will see how bad the tracking systems are.”
“Roger that sir.” Fuka still feels like that school girl on her first date.
After a bit Hoare calls to Fuka. ‘OK that is good. Take it back to the bay and see to it getting re-loaded.” Not too bad for someone that has not fired ‘Mech weapons before.
After getting the Dragon back to the bay and helping with the re-loading of the ammo bays Fuka heads into the wash room to clean up and change back in to her overalls. She still is giddy over what just happened. She gets back to the work area and she sees Julia and heads over to her.
“Hay kid so how did it go?” Julia asks.
“Not so sure.” Fuka answers.
“Why?” Julia asks as she keeps working.
“I could hit the non-moving targets well, the moving ones were hard but when I was moving and the targets were moving I missed a lot more. I think I missed something in the targeting systems.” She tells Julia.
“Not to worry kid, it is a lot harder to hit moving targets and when you are moving also it is even more difficult. Trust me I know. And when they shoot back that is when it gets real hard.”
“OK, I guess but I just don’t know as this was the first time I was on a range.” She looks around. “Can we find a private place to talk?”
Julia also looks around at the shop and points to an office. “Over that their.” The two go over to the office.
“I was wondering if I can get some time off tonight?” Fuka asks Julia.
“I do not see why not. Have some big plans?”
“Well, yes. After just what happened I want to go into town.” She tells Julia.
“I will ask Hoare if it is OK.” Julia looks at Fuka. “Something more?”
“Yes. Would you and Hoare join me? You two have been looking after me so much I would like to thank you two with dinner.”
“I will check with him and see.”
“Great.” Fuka heads back to the floor.
Julia looks for Hoare. After a bit finds him working on the Po. “Hay Boss you doing anything tonight?”
Hoare pulls himself out of the tank. “Working on this bucket. Why?”
Julia looks over at the tanks and shakes her head. “Cadet Hiyami just asked for the night off and if we would join her.”
“Well the night off is no problem. As for me I have to finish my work on this bucket. So you two ladies go have a good time.”
“OK Boss.” She heads off to inform Fuka it will be ladies night.

To:         (Individually addressed to all personnel who were on the field Sunday as relayed by their commanders, if lists are unavailable from some commanders Bully is asking the command staff to pass along this message to their personnel)
Re:         Recent battle

One of the more painful duties a commander has is to remember those who have died under his or her command, while one of the more pleasant items is exulting in a victory without such casualties.
Both the Kokuryu-kai force and the force centered around the Marauder and Raven the other day knew how the day would end, knew who would be victorious and who would be crying for their mothers.  The fact that both of them got it wrong is only because of you, all of you, whether you stood against a full company of them in a single Battlemech, or stood by prepared to fight like tigers at the last bulwark despite differences in firepower and armor.

Thank you.  I realize that without every one of you, we could not have succeeded, and I'm in your debt.

Re:           Prettyboy

You may have had reports from the battlefield the other day indicating that Chu-i Miyamoto Musashi behaved improperly, challenging the Sho-sa commanding the Black Dragon forces to single combat for his own ego.  I have spoken to him at length regarding that behavior.
He has convinced me that his primary intention was not singular glory, but the hope that in a duel between himself and the Sho-sa, the Black Dragon advance would be delayed long enough for us to realign enough forces to stop them following the duel.  My comments on him during that battle could have been better phrased, but I felt I should best advise you.

(Delivered by personal courier to Governor Meiyo Saganami from Dr. Kira Musashi)

Governor and cousin,

I acknowledge that in a fit of temper I may have greatly damaged the peace of this world, and your own position.  I am prepared to atone for this in any way that you deem appropriate.

I can only offer that as you already know, the Sho-sa recruited my eldest Oda into the Black Dragons in the first place, and that if it were possible to retract my actions, I would.  I could not withstand his arrogance any further.

I am at your direction, Governor, and I thank you for your actions past and present,
Kira Kurita

Later on at the Golden Chopsticks restaurant the two ladies are having dinner when a young man walks up and asks if he can join them. Julia looks over the young man and can tell he is not a threat. “I do not mind if my friend does not.” Julia looks at Fuka.
“Sure we have room.” Fuka tells the young man.
“You two are new to town.” He takes a seat.
“What makes you so sure?” Julia asks him.
“If I had seen two such beautiful ladies around here before I would remember.” As he looks over at both.
“Wow do you use that line every time.” Julia looks at him with a smile on her face.
“Not all the time. I hope you are not offended?”
“No just looking to see were things stand that’s all” Julia looks at Fuka, “You are very quiet.”
“Not mush to say. You have been handling things so let the master work.” Fuka takes a drink.
The night move on and the three enjoy dinner and dancing. When the ladies go to head home the young man asks if they could give him a lift home as he lives just down the road. They say OK.
On the way Fuka looks over at Julia. “We do not need to take him home.”
Julia looks at Fuka. “Why you have other plans for him?” With a smile on her face.
“No. this is my friend I talked with you about.” Fuka looks to the back seat. “Eric. Julia. Julia. Eric.”
“OK then back to base it is.” Julia heads back to base.

As they drive back to the base, Julia looks over her shoulder at Eric and proceeds to inform him, "Our CO was going to tell Fuka that he's agreed to provide for your protection, but I guess you two beat us to the punch."
Eric looks a bit more relieved before saying, "Well, I couldn't take the risk of waiting too long and when I saw Fuka-san with you, I figured you were connected with her new job."
"Well, you figured right, Eric."  Julia replies before picking up the radio and relaying a message to Camp Haken.  As she is speaking in Mandarin, Eric doesn't understand it and Fuka only partly understands it.
"What was that about?"  Fuka asks.
"Juuuust calling in some insurance." Julia replies with a smile.

About 10 minutes later, the three see two clouds of dust coming from the direction of Camp Haken.  One coalesces into the form of a peculiar-looking Battlemech, the other into a familiar hovertank.  Both bear the black paint scheme and gold kraken of the Ironborn.
Fuka's eyes widen as she looks at Julia.  "Those are--"
"They are indeed."  Julia laughs.  "Lieutenant JG Botley's Wraith and Sergeant Major Kenning's Regulator.  I had the Colonel send them out to escort us to base.  He doesn't want to take any chances with your koibito here."  She points at Eric as Fuka blushes.
"We're not--" Fuka and Eric say in unison, evoking another laugh from Julia.
"Relax, kids."  Julia interrupts them, smiling ear to ear.  "For now, just leave everything to your Bad Sister and her friends.  Welcome to the Ironborn, Eric-chan."
Once they reach Julia's jeep, the 'Mech and hovertank take up flanking positions on either side of the vehicle and slow down to keep speed with the jeep.
Fuka giggles at the affectation while Eric looks confused. "Whatever you say, Aku-nee-san."

Translations: koibito=boyfriend or lover.
-chan=an affectation attached to a person's name that indicates youth or close affection (usually used
by adults with little children or between close friends or lovers).  Japanese girls tend to overuse it as they
                   consider the term cute.
Aku-nee-san=roughly translates to "Bad Sister" or "Bad Sis", though aku can also mean "wicked" or "evil".

OOC (to shadhawk): All kidding aside, once the party gets back to base, Euron is going to talk to Eric about what he knows about the 'Mechs we've been looking for that were involved in the two most recent missions with Fuka and Julia present and then set him up in the technicians' barracks, with Infantry Platoon Delta given primary charge to keep him safe.  Also, Euron will inform both Kiah (just Kiah) and the FRR unit basing with the Ironborn of Eric's existence and the need to keep his identity a secret from anyone outside the base.  Once Euron has enough useful information (or he feels Eric's told him everything he knows), he'll reveal who he is to Jack and the other unit commanders and arrange for Grandmother to find him a new place of work (and a false identity if necessary) so no enemies will look to target him.

At Camp Haken the guard post lets the Jeep, Wraith and Regulator enter and they all head over to the Ironborn repair bay. Ironborn infantry form a security perimeter around the building. Inside Julia, Fuka and Eric are greeted by Euron. He has the three of them move into an open office at the center of the building. ”This way please.”
“Wow.” Eric looks around at all the equipment in the building. “You work here?” looking at Fuka as they walk to the office.
“Sure do.” With pride in her voice. “I that is the one I have the most time on.” She points to the Grand Dragon.
Euron holds open the door as they enter. “Have a seat.” He points to some chairs around a table. “Not to be rude but if we can get this done quick we can see about getting your friend to someplace safer.” Euron looks over at Fuka.
“Well Eric is a s shipping coordinator.” She looks over at him. “He works for a company that works with people to get goods from one place to another.”
“Well not quite that simple.” Eric adds. “I get the people with cargo the permits and vehicles to get said cargo to where they want it.”
“OK so I see.” Euron has his hand rubbing his chin. “I take you have seen somethings you feel are out of the norm then?”
“Yes sir over the few months all the different clans have been moving large amounts of equipment around. Some of them have been doing this in ways to make it very difficult to know what is going to what location.” Eric looks at Euron
“With all that is going on it would make sense that people do not want their business know by others.” Euron states.
“Yes sir I would agree, but some are taking this way above and beyond. Cargos that started here in Hilo have been rerouted and paperwork altered many times over.” Eric looks at Fuka. “Said cargos were large and customs forms were altered.” He pulls out a small data pad. “I have some of the cargos that I worked on.” He turns the machine. “When I looked to make sure that they got to the places I was told they were going I could not find them. They had been changed from one carrier to a different one. The cargo forms had been changed and so on. Items that I should be able to find I cannot. When I looked in to this most of these cargos were from off world but at some point the paperwork shows they were from on world.” He looks around. “The other day some thugs found me at lunch time and told me I need to stop looking into things. They did not say so but I could tell that if I did not I was going to get hurt or killed.” He looks at Fuka. “We were going out a few later and I let Fuka know I was in trouble. She said she may know someone that could help and here I am.”
“Do you or can you provide information on who is doing this?” Julia speaks up.
“Well I have some traces on cargos I setup. But they get lost over time. The common things are the cargos are going to the south and they at some point are using a newer shipping company.”

Looking over the pad Euron and Julia notice that they need to make a few calls. “You two stay here. We have to check on somethings and will be back in a few. I you need anything the sergeant at the door will get you what you want.” Euron looks at Eric and Fuka. He points to the sergeant. “If our guess need something. See that they get it.” The sergeant nods.

As they walk to Euron’s office. “Well we are going to have some very unhappy people Julia.”
“Yup. Glad I am not the one that has to make these calls.”
“The fun of command.” Euron looks at Julia. “Get me the Governor, Hauptmann Franks and Captain Bonanno on the phone please.” Eruon tell his commutations officer. “Make sure it is a secure line.”

Said I wouldn't post in forums, yet here I am. Why? DAMN YOU NEED AN EDITOR or at least a Proof READER, Shad. :bang: :ticked:
I will again go back into to the shadows silently. Nothing is relevant, pertinent, nor applicable to the Arkab. I am also not allowed to "roleplay" nor do anything else "outside of physical game play."

Looking at his data pad Jack calls up the unit rosters for all the GSF units to see what can be done to help fix some of the security problems the different production plants have. One thing that can be done now is to have the different units supply forces to the plants. One Battlemech, one armored and one infantry unit will help. Having each of the commands do will not put any of them at a manpower shortage and the extra fire power that have will help the local security.
Looking over the pages of Merc Net Jack looks to see what units are open and how long it will take to get them out this way. With what is going on not many good units are looking for work.
