Finally got around to preparing some additional photos of my Iron painter entry. This contest really gave me a needed kick in the pants to get back to painting on a regular basis and get moving on my many stalled projects.
I was very impressed with all the great entries in the competition. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
My entry was the Nova A in the open division. I started out with the current Nova sculpt and converted it to the A configuration using parts available in the IWM omnimech parts yard. I sculpted the anti-missile systems using green stuff and brass rod. (You can see them mounted in the omni pods on either side of the torso.)
I got a little ambitious with this project and decided to experiment with both non-metal metallics and paint weathering. I'm happy with how it came out, but it took a
long time to finish. I was hoping to send in a graded entry too, but I just didn't have the time.
For those curious, you can find a detailed set of WIP write-ups in the blog linked from my signature. (including more exciting copies of these very same photographs!)
As always, your comments, critiques and suggestions are always welcome.
