(Answered) Hot Loading Extended LRMs
« on: 11 November 2013, 19:12:14 »
Two questions have come up as a result of my most recent game:

Can an ELRM launcher use hot loaded ammo? The description of the weapon on page 327 says it can't use specialty ammo, but hot loaded ammo is technically regular ammo with a field mod.

If a ELRM launcher can use hot loaded rounds, will it use its regular cluster table if the target is within its minimum range. The text for hotloading LRMs on page 103 says it removes the minimum range modifier. So is the minimum range modifier the same thing as the minimum range or is it something separate?

EDIT: Thanks!

Change all references to "LRM and ATM" under the "Missiles" section of p. 103 to just "missiles" (and we'll add further page references in the text to make things easier to find).

1) So therefore, yes.

2) It will use the regular cluster table at minimum range combined with the normal effects for hot-loading (3D6 drop the highest single result).
