(Answered) Reactive Armor and Capital Missiles
« on: 30 November 2018, 10:20:50 »
In a previous topic https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=63595.0, it was determined that Reactive Armor (TO, p.282) reduces damage from Capital Missiles.  Reactive Armor has a special property that lets it ignore armor-penetrating Critical Hits.  The rules say "...any weapons that rely on an armor-piercing effect, such as Armor-Piercing Ammo (see p. 140, TW), Tandem-Charge Missiles (see p. 372) or Tasers (see p. 345) lose any special armor-penetrating abilities if they strike a location protected by Reactive Armor...".  Capital Missiles have a special armor-ignoring Critical Hit (TW, p.239; TO, p.344) that can affect AeroSpace Fighters.

1)   Will an ASF that is protected by Reactive Armor, ignore the special Critical Hit chance from a Capital Missile?

For the sake of simplicity, yes, per the reactive armour wording.
