My only thought its that it could instead be a robotic Galleon (that is a tank vs a Mech) which makes more sense as a force extender and long duration patrol or base security unit.

I think the design is interesting, but I'm not buying the lore as a pirate or militia mech. Waaaaay too advanced.

And expensive to boot!  Maybe drop it to 20 tons?

That won't help much by itself.  About 40% of the cost of this thing is just from the Angel ECM suite.

True, but dropping the gyro by a ton will help... I can get to ALMOST half the cost...

This reminds me about the robotic Cobra drone posted here.  Have to find that again.

I would honestly suggest going with a quad mech. Bipeds using SRCS have terrible piloting scores, and it's going to end up spending a lot of time on its back without the quad bonus.

I might also suggest going from angel ECM to guardian if you want a more periphery friendly vibe to the machine.

That said, the concept is still interesting.
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.
