Legacy covers from the Grasshopper's creation when Star League Civil War broke out to the end of the Jihad where it was part of the Stone's Regiment liberating Terra.

Iron Dawn, the other book is during the late Dark Ages (when i can't say precisely), properly late 3140s-early 3150s.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/List_of_BattleTech_print_novels

The Lion’s share of the original novels occur in the Clan Invasion and Civil War eras.

The newer fiction is spread around. Embers of War is set in 3067 between the end of the FCCW and beginning of the Jihad. Betrayal of Ideals is during the founding of the clans era in the 29th century during the founding of the clans. Forever faithful is sort of a continuation / postscript of the Twilight of the Clans arc ca 3060

You can find a fairly comprehensive list of what fiction belongs where in the overall timeline here:  https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=25780.0
"We have made of New Avalon a towering funeral pyre and wiped the Davion scourge from the universe.  Tikonov, Chesterton and Andurien are ours once more, and the cheers of the Capellan people nearly drown out the gnashing of our foes' teeth as they throw down their weapons in despair.  Now I am made First Lord of the Star League, and all shall bow down to me and pay homa...oooooo! Shiny thing!" - Maximillian Liao, "My Triumph", audio dictation, 3030.  Unpublished.

If it's even half as good as Forever Faithful, it will be well received. If it actually advances the timeline, a welcome bonus! The 3140s could certainly use more quality fiction for one of BT's most interesting eras IMHO.
All Clan totems are equal but some are more equal than others.

"The Succession Wars solved no problem. Their effects, both immediate and indirect, were either negative or disastrous. Morally subversive, economically destructive, socially degrading, confused in their causes, devious in their course, futile in their results, they are the outstanding example in Spheroid history of meaningless conflict."
The Third Star League's view of the Succession Wars, plagiarised from an ancient Terran historian's judgement of the Thirty Years War.

The teaser for the sequel shows it will be post-ilClan, in 3155.  Only Surrender Your Dreams has gone further, with scenes set in 3156.
I took that to be a typo for 3150 since Iron Dawn finishes 8th April 3150 and the sequel is dated 11th April 3155.

Incidentally I noticed in the battletech novel list at the end of the book there’s a new entry  “64. Redemption Rift by Jason Schmetzer” Can’t wait for this one to be released!

Wonder about the Arano sourcebook as well. I am rather interested in it, especially since the next DLC for the game was announced (Urban Warfare, release date June 4), so it'd be a good time to replay the game soon.

So my great nephew's due date is the same as the release date for the House Arano book.

Clearly his house has been chosen for him.

My copy of Iron Dawn (and The Nellus Academy Incident, because I hadn't noticed it was out as a POD) arrived today.  Shipping was much cheaper and faster when I realised that Amazon.co.uk also does POD - I defaulted to using the US site for Forever Faithful

New Release Date for House Arano: The Aurigan Coalition

Please see the message below from Ray Arrastia, BattleTech assistant line developer, regarding a new release date for House Arano: The Aurigan Coalition:

Quote
I would like apologize to the community and beg your patience a little further. We have to postpone the release of House Arano: The Aurigan Coalition until May 31. Key people involved have been tied up getting other projects across the finish line, and we still need a proper buffer before release to allow for testing of the POD system, as this is our first time using it for this type of product.

House Arano: The Aurigan Coaltion is now in editing, with design and layout already started. Turning Points: War of 3039 Vega will be released later today. Next week we’ll show you some previews, along with teasers for the upcoming Alpha Strike Commanders Edition.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.
