Sure, after the first nine years.  Did the Nova Cats LIVE long enough to make it that nine years?  (I honestly don't know)

Cave Lion production came online in 3121ish, Nova Cats in Kuritan Space bit the dust in mid-3143.  That's over 20 years.  Explains why in the clix game there were some Cave Lions floating around Solaris.

Quote from: Worktroll
Face it - MW:DA had, for its run, massively greater commercial success than BattleTech's ever had. Over two million click-base minis - want to guess where the number of BT minis comes in? I'd guess on the order of a few percent of that. While BT has survived for 30 years, we've never had the same number of players at any point. The pity was that unlike BT, MW:DA ended up being run by businessmen, not game fanatics.

I get the feeling that we aren't going to see the Ilclan until Gencon.

That is four months away.

Painful wait.

That's probably accurate; what better event to create a diorama for than that?

Boy you just can't be satisfied can you? CGL releases three products - THREE! - and you're still complaining that it's not enough? You ungrateful sod.

Has it been confirmed that D&D 5th is debuting at Gen Con?

If so, it seems like it'd be a tough year to get much industry attention for anything else. OTOH, I suppose everything industry-wide can't stop for D&D's sake, and the new edition is far from a big surprise announcement.

Ahem: let’s all settle down a little, shall we?  Name-calling isn’t necessary or productive.  The recent releases don’t include some highly-anticipated products, and some of us are more keen to see those than the ones we actually got, and we’re all perfectly entitled to want slightly different things.  If everybody wanted the same things equally, we’d all still be playing Chainmail.  ;)

Boy you just can't be satisfied can you? CGL releases three products - THREE! - and you're still complaining that it's not enough? You ungrateful sod.

Well.... I am a Sea Fox.

I like the Free Worlds League. I like the Star League, but until Interstellar Ops comes out and there is a more grand strategic game to play there are not any stories that I wish to tell in that period currently. The Gunslingers book is a fun product and has a selection of mechs for an era that I am currently not crafting stories for anybody in.

The Era Digest on the other hand is a wonderful product for most players. But you have to understand, I have read most of the Dark Age novels at this point. I have also used the wayback machine to go and look at the old Dark Ages site. So the majority of the book for me is a more convenient reference since I don't have to dig through old pdf's and artifact websites.

The roleplaying rules, the descriptions of the clusters help me greatly and I appreciate them.

But the product doesn't advance the storyline any for me. Other than the roleplaying rules it is far more helpful to other players and is a great reference for them. It did not change my knowledge or my understanding of the setting very much.

So here I am, with my Sea Foxes and Julian Davion cruising across the galaxy. Everyone elses faction in the crucible. 'Waiting'.

I moved about two years ago from a place I've lived my whole life to the heart of dishonesty in America. Became isolated from my friends and the playerbase that I built back home knowing that the most important component of maintaining a relationship is proximity. Got a job, the things that I value about myself are loyalty and honesty and learned a lesson that your character, the thing that you are, and your reputation, the thing that you are perceived to be, are two different things. As it turns out if you are honest in a place where everyone is dishonest that 'you' are the problem.

So I was isolated and stressed and fell back into an old love. At least, I fell into this community. I have always supported battletech... and I was fortunate, because the Era Report 3145 came out. So it was an exciting time to be a battletech player. That was a year ago.

So life has moved on. Things at work are not so insane. I have made new friends to supplement my deteriorating friendships and my significant other has been diagnosed with cancer.

I have had the pleasure of meeting several developers. Ben Rome has handily defaced the credits page of my copy of Wars of Reaving. I actually pay attention to the credits of the books. I look into who wrote, who developed and who drew for them.

I am acutely aware of how hard Adrian Gideon works. Taking an unofficial role of informing the community of whats going on behind the scenes while we wait. As well as doing the layout for CGL's products.

and I try to tell them frequently how much I appreciate that work.

I've been doing this battletech thing for over two decades. I am thirty one so Battletech is one of those things that I 'have been' longer than almost anything else that I ever have been. Life is very demanding of me right now and I have to focus quite a bit of attention to it. But I am managing with a little bit of escapism.

I have stories to tell and daydreams to dream. I have chosen to do it with you all in mechs and warships... and I am waiting to know where my mechs and my warships are going. That I may have to wait four more months, or longer is not particularly pleasant. Even if I understand why it will take that long that does not mean that I want to see that product any less. I spend a lot of time on these forums, the developers are all very kind to spend time with us. Even kinder since quite a few fans like to make attacks on their identity.

If you attack someones work and they identify themselves with that work you might as well be insulting them directly. I empathize with this and I hate it, dearly, when it happens. I am quite aware that all of the people that work on this setting are 'People'. Like I said, I've met a few of them. I seem to like them all.

If that seems ungrateful to you, I apologize.

Actually I apologize also. I meant that as a gentle tease not a "You suck" which I realize is how it came across. That wasn't what I meant at all, and I'm truly embarrassed that I didn't stop to think how it would sound.

Sorry about that Kitsune, I really didn't mean to violate Wheaton's Law.

Yes, it's in layout. But it's too complicated to hand over to a freelancer and it's too low priority for me to have gotten to it yet. There's been discussion about releasing the documents as-is, but the overwhelming feeling is that without proper formatting and layout/context that it's not clear enough to use.

You noted it, but I'll reiterate, we're talking beta rules here, not final files.

"In Progress" BattleTech Sculpts

That new Black Knight is very nice, but let's wait how the actual mini turns out. I might buy some.

As for Orochi and Hatamoto, those are nice models of not-so-good 'Mechs. And I have no use for Ares, as I don't play for the Republic.

Because while even posts saying that you don't like something can be useful if voiced as constructive criticism, simply saying "I don't care" contributes nothing at all. Doubly so in this thread, which has nothing at all to do with those miniatures. Posting that you don't care in that thread still wouldn't contribute, but you'd at least be able to see on-topic from your post, even if you'd need Hubble-grade optics to see it.

Since page 2, this thread revolves about CGL's Tumblr account updates - people comment what appears here. So far nobody has had any problem with it ...

Anything else?

The tumbler updates also show up on the Catalyst twitter feed (and facebook?).  So I usually find out about them from my twitter feed.
But some sort of account is needed so that whatever knows how to notify you?

It is good to see the coming releases updated.  Cannot wait for the next XTRO's.  I notice that the "IlClan" wasn't on the coming release page, in my opinion I think that the "IlClan" book will be a Gen-Con release or  late this year.

IMO: If the "IlClan " book is about the Home world clans invading the Inner Sphere, do you think that there will be new mechs,  battle armor,  vechiles,  proto mechs, aircraft and ships.  It has been fifty to sixty years since anything was heard from the Home worlds.

Yes, you can use RSS feed.

No registration needed and it works in many internet browsers (either natively or you can use some add-on, if you wish something fancier).

The two Clan Historical are pretty interesting.  Was there alot details on the fights against the Widowmakers?  Golden Digest and Klondike skipped most of the action that happened during the Trial of Absorption was concluded.

Nothing other than Kerensky getting killed. Big blank canvas. Well, except for the ending. But CGL is getting pretty good at that sort of thing.
