Melee weapon question
« on: 04 December 2019, 02:14:36 »
I know you can punch using both arms but from what I understand you cannot do the same with say a hatchet but I was wondering is there any combination of melee weapons you can swing twice in one turn (for instance if you had a sword in one hand and claws on the other or something like that)?

Also is it possible to make yourself only target the punching table using melee weapons such as with a called shot or something similar?  Even if it had penalties I was considering of making a 40 ton speedy mech that uses a large vibro blade  with an actuator enhancement system for extra accuracy.

Two claws are an unique exception, since they're treated as punch attacks. But you can't combine a claw and a melee weapon.

Chain whip and and a melee weapon do have some synergy though, since the former can restrain the opponent and makes proper melee attacks easier.
But you can't do this in one turn. EDIT at least i think so, may need to check rules again...

By Tournament rules you cannot, but if you allow SPA then you can get one that lets you make a second melee attack in the same phase as long as you meet all requirements.

To answer the next question: most melee weapons you can target the punch or kick table, but there is a +4 penalty (then the regular modifier, eg: -2 for sword).

No-Dachi has a counter-argument. Nothing further? Ok.

I thought retractable blades got 2 dips as well- basically 1 on each arm?

No. The only double you get with them is if they're retracted and you do punches - that's when you get to extend the blades for the crit chance - but they're still punches.
