I liked Hobbs and Shaw. It's a mindless action comedy, and those are always fun. Especially the airport fake ID scene. "And you, are Michael Oxmaul."

The Zone of Interest (2023) Its about Rudolf Hoss and his family-hes the commandant of Auschwitz. I'm normally interested in Holocaust movies, but this one felt pretentious and gimmicky since its main focus is on the family doing mundane stuff against the backdrop of all the killings, which are only hinted at via the background noises. I found it boring and it actually isn't historically accurate either. I would have preferred a straight up adaptation instead of this. Rating: 3/10

The Queen's Gambit (2020) This showed up in my Netflix queue unexpectedly. About a chess prodigy with a dark past in the 1960s. It started off very well, but the middle episodes dragged. It wasnt until the last episodes that finally got me interested again. Rating: 6.5/10

Cocaine-Bear; this is one movie where the title doesn't lie.  There's lots of cocaine and a bear; one of my coworkers told me it was a comedy, from the trailer they saw. Well, it's a comedy if you like to see a tweaker-bear maul people and rip-limbs off etc.

3 Body Problem (2024) Season 1. I got mixed feelings about this one. While it presents a new wrinkle in the alien invasion genre, I didn't care much for the characters, because they seemed more like archetypes than actual people. Also the way the story presents them as always being central to the plot involves way too many contrivances. Some ideas presented are definitely interesting and well worth a watch, if you can get through some of the more cliched parts. Rating: 6/10

Currently up to episode six, of Lionesses Special ops..  Not a bad show so far (not as good imo as Sheradons others).  BUT MY biggest gripe is why is so much of it, seeming to be filmed in the dark.  EVEN WHEN IN the day, they seem to be darker than it should be..

Nope: it's a different kind of movie; it should be watched, at least once.  The acting was good, but, I kinda got bored with it at the beginning.

I didn't even find Mars Attacks good for a laugh, but then I find Tim Burton to be an overrated imbecile who needs to stop shoving his necrophilia fetish in people's faces, so there's that.

I believe there was also issues on the set with the relationship between the 2 actors, Rock had a contract stipulations that he couldn't lose a fight on screen.

Yeah, and that's made him difficult to work with in all of his recent movies.  And made his characters all look boringly invincible.

IIRC that's why dc was NOT happy with him being black adam, especially for the inevitable cross with superman OR shazam.

Just watched Dances with Wolves.

My condolences. It took me three tries to get through. It didn't make me want to end myself from boredom the way Lost in Translation did, but it certainly was overhyped.
