A small problem
« on: 03 May 2011, 14:30:50 »
Sooooooo..... I went to my local geek shop since I have not been there in awhile. I took a look at the BTech minis expecting the usual bunch but to my surprise they had a lot of cool stuff, i bought a vulture, bombardier, highlander IIc, and a fenris.

One problem, I opened the Vulture and I was missing a very important piece, the main Body of the mech where the cockpit is, the center piece.

Wondering if the best approach was contact IWM directly, or go through my hobby store. It does not bug me really, crap happens and parts get left out, just hoping the fix will be easy and trying to make sure I talk to the right people.

Man, one tiny little piece missing and the whining starts...  ;)   Out of curiosity, was the blister bubble seal damaged in any way?  Some enterprising soul who wanted a Vulture torso may have boosted it.  This is of course me hoping that IWM would not leave out by far the largest component of the mech...

No, it was sealed properly, all four blisters I bought were. This is actually the first time I have had ANY problem buying y'alls products. If anybody asked me about y'alls minis I would have nothing but good things to say.  ;D

Thanks for the phone number BTW, I sent out an e-mail when I went to their contact info and saw the "I have a problem". I will give them a call tomorrow if I don't get a reply. Usually e-mails are the slow way anyways of trying to get in touch but I still go three other minis that gotta be dealt with and primed!  :D

Missing parts aren't all that uncommon in my purchases, especially among units with lots of tiny pieces, though sometimes a major part like your situation. In every case, all I needed to do was shoot off an email to Mike and I'd have the part in about a week. In one case, the missing bit was the lower hull of a Mckenna BB, and IWM sent me a complete new Mckenna! :o I guess the way the molds worked out, they would have had spare parts after sending me that one, so they sent a whole ship to keep things balanced.

Makes sense, and if they are not taking a profit shot on it then it's not too bad. It would be bad business though if they did that too much though I would assume. But sure is cool!

Worst I've had was a missing crotch for the Heliopolis, but IWM sent it out right away after I emailed em. Good customer support as far as I have seen.

Dang, guess I got to call, never got a reply to my email, unless I did something wrong.
