RS 3085 The Old is the New New

Scimitar C3 page 32

It notes the engine type as ICE
TRO says it is based off the TAG variant which has a fusion engine.

Based on weight and legalness of design, the engine type should be changed to fusion.

RS The Old is the New New

Page 55, Demolisher II MML

It notes the Machine Gun ammo as 300.  This puts it half a ton overweight according to HMVee.

Change Machine Gun ammo to 200.  The BV that HMVee calcs and the BV that the RS shows match with that amount of ammo.

According to the TRO, the standard Kinnol has 2 tons of ammo for its LB10-X.

Pg 55 of the Cutting Edge RS shows the Kinnol with only 1 ton of LB10-X ammo.  This leaves the design 1 ton underweight.

Fix: Add another ton of LB10-X ammo. This will cause the BV to change, though I have no idea what to, so you'll need to fix that as well :)

RS 3085 Cutting Edge

Karhu pages 229 through 233

Different sets of files used for TRO and for Record Sheets.

All record sheets have the fixed equipment in different locations from the locations noted in the TRO.
As noted by previous poster, the TRO Prime is not in the record sheets, the TRO C is noted as RS Prime, and the RS C is not in the TRO at all.

My suggestion would be to find the files used to make the TRO and use them in the record sheets but it really depends on which version of the Karhu is meant to be canon, the one in the RS or the one in the TRO.

Bit of useless trivia: the files used for the TRO were used for the RS, which is the whole source of the problem. Which doesn't make sense on face value, but there you go. Seeing as this was reported within days of the sheets' release, and that things like the Demolisher were also posted, here is a brief summary of the errata currently being tracked. This includes issues brought up by Maelwys in ask the writers.

Cutting Edge
MLR-B2 Mjolnir & TRG-1N Targe - Print RS trumps PDF
Nyx - NX-80/C do not have lower arm actuators, NX-90 does not have hand actuators
Panther PNT-12K/2 - are identical; PNT-12K2 sheet supersedes the one in RS MWDA1 (12K is factory built, 12K2 is a field modification)
Eisenfaust - no left arm lower actuators
(Karhu - TRO is correct)

Project Phoenix
LCT-5W2, VLK-QT2, GRF-4R, SHD-12C, OTL-9R, RFL-7X, TDR-10M, WHM-11T, MAD-6D, Marauder IIC 7 - Print RS trumps PDF
WVR-9W2 - move CASE above LFF slots
LGB-12R - move ERLL between LRM15 and ammo
MAD-6M - mirror MAD-6D internal distribution
Locust IIC 8 - no hand or lower arm actuators

ONN
DRG-5Nr - remove Artemis IV, add C3 to H
Vedette (Cell) - replace HMG/ammo with MG/ammo
Elemental (Space) - Flamer/MG - change era to Succession Wars

All duplicates (apart from Karhu) removed from notes. When posting errata, please be aware of old errata thread.

Please note that I am searching all four errata threads for each of these units before I post the errata.  If they have been previously reported and had posts deleted, I have no way of knowing.

TRG-1N Targe

TRO shows 15 point of CT armor and CASE in RT
RS unabridged shows 14 points of CT armor and CASE in RT
RS print shows 14 points of CT armor and no CASE in RT

I know you said above that you are following the RS print, but that doesn't match the TRO while the Unabridged is closer.  It seems odd to take the CASE away and not do something with that half ton.

RS Unabridged Project Phoenix

STG-3P Stinger, Page 16
RS unabridged shows heat sinks split between legs and torsos and Endosteel in side torsos only.
RS print shows heat sinks in side torsos and endo steel split between arms, side torsos, and legs, with two more slots than endosteel takes.
The STG-3R that this is a refit of carries all heat sinks in side torsos, so I would use the RS print as a base and just take out the two extra endosteel slots.  I did it from the side torsos when I entered it.

VLK-QT2 Valkyrie, page 38
TRO says it has endo-steel and weight is spent to add all systems.
RS Unabridged has endo-steel in the critical hits area
RS print, which the post above says trumps the unabridged, does NOT have endo-steel.  This could be a problem.
I would suggest using the RS Unabridged and NOT the RS print as it matches the TRO and is legal constructionwise.

WVR-9W2 Wolverine, page 96
RS Unabridged has one LFF critical in left arm and an empty spot in left torso
RS Print has left arm empty of LFFs and the left torso filled with them.
The TRO doesn't care, and Unabridged has not been printed, so I think it would be best to follow the ruling on the CASE above and follow RS print in this case as well.

CRD-8L Crusader, page 133
TRO and RS Print has CT armor of 28/7
RS Unabridged has CT armor of 27/8
RS Print and RS Unabridged disagree on the placement of the endosteel criticals, and Print has two few crits so it can't be used as an exact idea.
My suggestion is to set the armor to that used in the TRO and RS Print.  As for the endosteel crits, I do not know but I would base it on the RS Print and add the two extra slots somewhere.  Either side torsos or arms.

Record Sheets Unabridged Project Phoenix

ARC-9M Archer, page 159

In RS Unabridged, The ER Medium Lasers are below the missile racks, inbetween them and the ammo.
In RS Print, the ER Medium Lasers are above the missile racks.

Since RS Print is in...well...PRINT, I would suggest changing RS Unabridged to match RS Print

Record Sheets Print, page 108
Record Sheets Unabridged Cutting Edge, page 339
RS Print says that the Wasp LAM WSP-100 MK I has two single heat sinks in each side torso.
Unabridged says it has three in the LT and one in the RT.  This spread is used in all Unabridged RSs.

My suggestion would be to have RS Print overrule Unabridged and change all of the Wasp LAM sheets to have two single heat sinks in each side torso.  But as this is a disagreement between sources, the decision of which trumps the other is of course in higher hands than mine.  ;)

Record Sheets Unabridged Cutting Edge, page 342
Wasp LAM WSP-105 has too many heat sinks.  I would suggest having two single heat sinks in each torso as per RS Print.

Record Sheets Unabridged Cutting Edge, page 344
Wasp LAM WSP-110 is three tons overweight.  I have multiple suggestions.
1) Have a two ton bomb bay.
2) Using a small cockpit, one more ton could be found.  That would allow three ton bomb bay.
3) Replacing the Medium VSP with either a Small VSP or an MPL would free up 2 more tons, (with the small cockpit) allowing the full 5 ton bomb bay noted in the record sheet.

Record Sheets Unabridged Cutting Edge, page 345

Phoenix Hawk LAM MK1 PXH-HK1

RS Print has Jump Jets in side torsos below weapons.
RS Unabridged has Jump Jets in side torso above weapons.  All configs reflect this design choice.

I would suggest following the RS Unabridged style, though a definite case can be made for following the RS Print style considering it is in PRINT, not just electrons.  The RS Unabridged style just looks better to the eye.

RS 3085 Unabridged: The Cutting Edge

Aeron Strike VTOL

*problem: The numbers simply do not add up. The weight is wrong by 5.5 tons.

*solution: Change fusion engine to XL, change armor to ferro-fibrous, reduce rear armor to 11 and the numbers then do add up. BV becomes 858

(Self correction: Change fusion engine to XL and armor to heavy ferro. Armor remains unchanged, 875 bv is correct. Oops, forgot to try heavy ferro first time)

Problem: The PGD-L3 Poignard only has one ERLL.  The description of the variant on page 112 of TRO3085 says there are two and the design is by my math five tons underweight.

Solution: Put the other ERLL in the nose.

Pages 184, 186

Problem: Both the Balac Strike VTOL and Balac Strike VTOL (Spotter) are listed as having fusion engines.  Per the TRO entry on pages 132-133, both variants should have XL fusion engines and without them, both are overweight by my own math.

Solution: List both vehicles as having an XL Fusion Engine.

RS3085 Unabridged - The Cutting Edge

I have the PDF version of RS3085 and RS3085 Unabridged-The Cutting Edge is ONLY available as a PDF ... neither have the DT on them.
I've recently heard from another member of the forums that the print version of RS3085 includes the Damage Threshold information from TRO3085 for the LAMs.  However, it's not simply the fact that the information isn't present on the RS3085 pdf or the RS3085 Unabridged - The Cutting Edge pdf, but the information provided in the print version of RS3085 and TRO3085 leaves Us unable to use the LAMs.

The way I interpret the rules on pg. 239 of TW "Each armor facing has a Damage Threshold equal to 10 percent of its full armor value, rounded up." when compared to a record sheet like that of the SYD-Z2B Seydlitz from RS3039 Unabridged for example where the Damage Threshold/Total Armor for each location are as follows:
Nose = 3/26
Right Wing = 2/16
Left Wing = 2/16
Aft = 3/22
is that the DT is calculated by dividing the LOCATIONS AF by ten and rounding up.  Otherwise with an overall AF of 80, each location would have a DT of 8; but clearly this isn't the case.  (This version of the Seydlitz is not the only one; MANY fighters from RS3039 Unabridged follow this same format, as do the record sheets that print from Heavy Metal Aero) (Chunga posted a confirmation of this while I was typing this up: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php/topic,12373.0.html)

Another problem with using the TOTAL armor factor for instance can be found in the case of the Wasp mk I.  According to TRO3085 it has a TOTAL AF of 64 and a DT of 10; 64/10 = 6.4 rounds up to 7, 64/10 ≠ 10.  But regardless of whether We use 7 or ten, neither of these numbers can be divided and distributed evenly among the four locations of a fighter.  Applying Our expanded understanding of how each individual locations AF/10 rounded up = each corresponding locations DT, then We see that We MUST know which mech body parts correspond to which fighter locations.  So, unless the math is wrong for all of the LAMs in 3085 (Stinger LAM mk I's 80AF/10 ≠ 10DT, Wasp LAM mk I's 64AF/10 ≠ 10DT, and the Phoenix Hawk LAM mk I's = 128AF/10 ≠ 16DT) and RS3085 (I'm just assuming that the print version denotes the same incongruous DT info as the TRO since My PDF copy doesn't even include DT) then their construction rules must be different than those of aerospace fighters in regard to DT.

Regardless of what the explanation for this ultimately ends up being ... it seems clear to Me that in regard to DT if LAMs are going to be used before IO is published, We're forced to create house rules for the following points regarding DT:
1.)  determine if the calculation used in TRO3085 for LAMs is different
2.)  determine which mech body parts convert to what fighter locations
3.)  determine how to allocate DT to each location

3085 Unabridged Phoenix, page 23, STG-7S Stinger.  Head should have 7 armor points, not 9.
3085 Unabridged Old/New, page 50, Schrek AMS has no ammo listed
3085 Unabridged Cutting, Page 74, Tonbo doesn't show searchlights
3085 Unabridged Cutting, Page 76, Trireme has no location for any equipment.
3085 Unabridged Old/New, page 74, BJ2-OU Blackjack.  I believe that the criticals in the legs for the jump jets should possible be UMU instead, based on the fact it has torpedoes and harjel.  Perhaps just a second look?
3085 Unabridged Cutting, Page 167, Poignard PGD-L3 should have *2* ERLL's in the nose, not 1.
3085 Unabridged Cutting, Page 190, BE701 Joust has 1 too many armor points allocated, recommend change front to 45.

I saw a mention in this thread of an old one but the link didn't work.

The Karhu Prime RS is actually configuration C.

Configuration C is, well, completely different than the Prime version in the TRO.  As it appears the RS variant C is still valid, recommend changing it to a new E variant.  Doing so keeps the RS as legit, but the actual PRIME version from the TRO is then missing.

This thread is still in need of an errata round-up from prior, lost boards.  In the meantime, here is one dev-level errata:

RS 3085u, ONN: Theseus (Support) "Killshot"
Replace "Auto Grenade Launcher" with "Micro Grenade Launcher"

(µGL = LA, RL4 = RA, RL5 = Body & detachable)

On CGL writing: Caught between a writer's block and a Herb place. (cray)

Nicest writing compliment ever: I know [redacted] doesn't like continuity porn, but I do, and you sir, write some great continuity porn! (MadCapellan)

3055 rocks! Did so when I was a n00b, does so now.

RS: 3085u, ONN: Black Hawk U
Spot Welder - Damage is incorrectly listed as a 10,  Accordance to Total Warfare - P146 for Spot Welder.

Changed Spot Welder damager from 10 to 5.

This error appears to be a mixing up Spot Welder rules with the Hatchet rules on the chart.

RS: 3085u, Cutting Edge:  pg. 324 I believe the VTOL Infantry Platoon 1 as an incorrect BV.  Assuming unit is armed with auto-rifles (based on range and damage) the BV should be 83.

Defensive Value:  16 * 1.3 * 1.5 * 2 = 62.4
Offensive Value:  16 * 1.28 * 1 = 20.48

BV = 62.4 + 20.48 = 82.88  = 83

Previous reports, not yet vetted (except for ones marked "(jymset)"):

On pg. 311 the SRM Foot Infantry Platoon has the damage profile of a Rifle, Energy platoon and the range profile of a Rifle, Ballistic platoon.  It should have a max range of 6 and a max damage of 14 for 28 troopers.

Remove the AMS. It seems to be a leftover from the C3M version (note how it doesn't have any ammo)

Arctic Wolf II, pages 210-211:

The Prime and A configs are swapped with each others. What is labeled Prime should be A, and what is labeled A should be Prime. Compare pages 50-51 of TRO3085 Supplemental.

Cutting Edge

Abalest 2
MASC is missing in LT

Mech is underweight because of this

Morrigan 2

Problem: The Ebony variants go in the order -10, -11, -9, which isn't a standard numerical order.
Correction: switch it so it goes -9, -10, -11.

Correction: switch the order so the Dark Crow 4 is at the end.

ONN p120
Naginata NC-C3Ar should be NG-C3Ar
