Thanks all! We are off to the town we got married in, having a Michelin-starred restaurant lunch and then will probably go to see Iron Man III 3d in the evening before spending the night in a lovely B&B that we have decided is nicer than the hotel where we had our honeymoon night!

Oh, and we've both forgotten to get each other cards but I've decided to treat myself to new contact lenses so I can see properly to drive and for the cinema  ;)  (we see Star Trek Into Darkness on Thursday)
Ah that sounds far more romantic than our 5th Anniversary plans.  First, we're updating our Wills, going to the Pentagon for a retirement ceremony, a reception in Old Town Alexandria, followed by dinner and mooching a good room rate off they guy that is retiring.  Oh, then there will be the ever present stress of my Mother-in-Law watching the boy for the first time overnight.

The meal was amazing, we had a glass of rosé Rioja to start, then shared a bottle of Hunter Valley white with our main and then a couple of double Bailey's each with dessert and coffee

Now we're at a booze-selling cinema for Iron Man III 3d and I'm having a Corona while she has a G&T

Our cat is home-alone

Hope your anniversary goes well!

And it is now technically my 5th wedding anniversary (as it's after midnight)

Congratulations, and my best wishes to you and your lady.  :)

I've never been to a theatre that sole alcohol. I've been to a few movies where it would have helped though.

I've been to some of the same movies.  And I don't even drink.

The bathroom waits are long enough with the 64 oz. soda pop.  If they sell booze too I demand a catheter built into the viewing seats.

Maybe we should just get plush luxury toilets?

Probably the best bet would be to start having intervals/intermissions to give us breaks?

Didn't theaters used to do this long ago?  This is one of the big reasons studios want movies to be 90 minutes (for comedies) to 120 minutes (for action/drama), and shun three hour epics.  If Lord of the Rings had intermissions, then the last hour of Two Towers wouldn't have needed to be placed at the beginning of Return of the King.

Hmmm... Do you think, have we been infiltrated by Loki?   [blank]

Hmm. Do you think it's likely?

Just look around for the English actor with black hair and a fondness for a helmet with really impractical horns
