Vlad Ward Executioner
« on: 29 January 2011, 01:00:15 »
This was a commission piece that I think may have been canceled.  I will likely send this off to be painted in the near future.

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe it falls under the following (weapons are correct just not sure on the JJ):

1 Gauss Rifle            RA      1   32     10     16.00
(Ammo Locations: 2 LT, 2 RT)
1 Gauss Rifle            LA      1           6     12.00
1 ER Large Laser         RT     12           1      4.00
2 Medium Pulse Lasers    RT      8           2      4.00
1 ER Large Laser         LT     12           1      4.00
2 Medium Pulse Lasers    LT      8           2      4.00
2 Standard Jump Jets:                        2      4.00

Ah... the impossible Gladiator of a certain book...
Problem was it was overweight by several tons (roundabout 17 tons... #P)

Nevertheless a nice piece of work. As it seems only the left side laser battery needed to be attached, am i right?

I'm surprised you decided to tackle this one, as it was one of those weird "illegal" designs from the novels.  I think it's fantastic, however.  It's the first Executioner mod or variant that actually makes it look like a scary Clan assault mech (as opposed to the overweight heavy most view it as).  Who knows, maybe one of these days we'll get a record sheet showing how Vlad modded it beyond just the pod space.

I like the mod a lot.  Makes an Executioner actually look combat capable...

As for an illegal design, what do you expect?  Also, do they ever openly say that Vlad's "Executioner" isn't just a named variant, like Phelan's "Lone Wolf" was?  I don't remember the "Executioner being described all that much in Blood Legacy.  It could always be a different chassis.

DH,

Yeap.  I basically imaged the right side weapons pod box on an IWM Executioner E torso, removed the heavy lasers from the existing casting, then added the LL cut from the Exectuioner Prime right arm pod plus the barrels from two Dragonfly Prime PL pods.

Right are was a rework of a second Exectuioner Prime left arm with the upper arm from a Man O War Prime.

A very nice bash, that is one mean looking Executioner. What I really admire about your work is that everything looks so seamless and fits together as if it was meant to be that way. Sometimes bashes just look like a few parts thrown together but lacking any coherence (especially when the level of detail of the various parts differs). Not with your work.
