Victor VTR-9E
« on: 10 April 2024, 17:43:32 »
I saw a posting of the original VTR-9B, so I figured it was time to give the design a 3050 makeover. Started off with upgrading the heatsinks to doubles, and the armor to ferro fiberous. Then it was time to add in CASE to protect the right torso ammo bomb along with the left torso. Of course, given the volume of fire the AC/20 puts out, I'm not sure how effective those upgrades are. The SRM-4 pack is replaced with a trio of Streak SRM2 launchers off as single ton of ammo; that's still plenty. Pre FM:DC limits baby! Additional armor is added as well, ensuring the classic AC/20 cannot go internal off a single front hit.

This is the kind of thing I would make for a 3040's campaign as a field customization.

Or I might use a Proto-Gauss from 3039 for some flavor.

Interesting idea, but I'd have stuck with two Streak-2s and thrown the other into even more armor... :)

I was running in to the armor limits, and with Streak SRM-2's, a trio is good for burning through a ton of ammo.

A trio will definitely burn through a ton of ammo faster, but a double will fit in the CT... ;)

Victor already has 2 JJ in the CT,  don't need to put the SRM there.
Especially when keeping them in the LT helps hide the ammo.
