(Answered) Detecting hidden units while sprinting
« on: 19 April 2023, 18:45:16 »
The sprinting rules state that "A sprinting unit cannot attack or take any action other than movement" and that "Systems which are always active or require no action to activate still function as normal, such as AMS, ECM, and C3."

Is detecting hidden units passive or active? Normally, they are detected during the movement phase. Do sprinting units detect hidden units?

Yes, they do. The sprinting unit doesn't have to target or choose anything, it's just movement within base-to-base contact or within probe range.
If there was an objective that required scanning (ie, selecting a specific target), then the sprinting unit cannot do that.
