Just bought a 68 Hemi automatic transmission. Total score!

Have a line on an NOS 70 Hemi motor

Also have a line on a 71 Dodge Challenger 383 Convertible 8)

Almost bought into the Mopar thing with a Ram 1500 last year. Ended up in a Willys Wrangler instead.

Back in the early 1980s I bought my first 4x4 - a 1974 W100 regular cab short bed Dodge Power Wagon. 360 automatic with 33" tires. It was Baby Blue and White.

I would come home with it brown from head to toe. It would take over two hours to just hose the mud off. My parents were not happy with the brown river running down their driveway.

Currently contemplating if I should buy a 2016 Challenger Hellcat.

Looks like VW is going to buy back my 2013 VW Passat SE TDI for quite a lot of coin

The Shelby looks good and all but I'm too much of a Mopar guy to do that

Why not, it is still an efficient working car right? The only reason anybody knows about the cheat is VW immediately fessed up to it.

It is. I paid $29K for it out the door with all the taxes and fees. VW is going to pay me between $21.5K and $24K for it with 60,000+ miles on it and me getting to use it for 4 years. I can keep it but then I get $6000 and they have to fix it which could result in poorer gas mileage and performance. If they can't fix it I'll be forced to turn it over.

I'm pretty sure if you have to take time to think "Do I want a Passat or a Challenger Hellcat" you shouldn't be driving the Hellcat. :D

No that's not the situation :P

The Passat has nothing to do with the Hellcat.

I'll need to replace the Passat and that might be with another Passat. I can't park the Hellcat at a park and ride which is involved in my super long commute when I go to the office.

i recently bought a 2014 Fiat 500 turbo, (re: september 2015) and wouldn't trade it for anything, then again though i don't have a family to have to do for with it, just the occasional dog to take to the vet. removed the rear seats and am putting a hard deck in the rear area so that i can hard mount things i need to keep with me.

what kind of MPG do you get? what did you pay?

$15,500 and i get a minimum of around 35mpg, usually somewhere north of 40mpg

VW is going to buy back my Passat and I need to find a replacement. Keeping the car would not be the greatest financially. Plus I'm not happy with the VW maintenance costs.

I need a car that will get my to work which is a couple of days a week at 270 miles round trip. I need to park it at a park and ride. Good gas mileage would be nice but it doesn't have to get the 46.5 MPG I get in the Passat. I loathe automatic transmissions. I prefer coupes over sedans, but would consider a wagon.

What would you recommend?

Couple people with long commutes at work have the diesel Cruze. They like them so far and haven't had any trouble in three-ish years.
