So I was thinking of the Animated Series today and remember a line that made me really curious about the history of the Battletech universe:

A Captured Somerset Striker: "One day the Star League/Star League Defense Force will return and save us!"

Jade Falcon Commander: "We are the Star League!"

Now, I'm not sure if I remember this line perfectly, but wanted to ask for help in finding the episode it may have occurred in if anyone else remembers something similar?

I never knew about the show until last year and somebody sent me the link to it on Youtube... stopped watching it after the 1st 3 minutes

The show is a typical 90s cartoon imho.

Arguably the best part of the series is the intro :-P. Sums up the BT universe up to the Clan Invasion rather well.

My take on the scene is that they wanted to echo the pivotal scene on Outreach where Romano Liao makes her big speech about how the descendants of Kerensky will come to defend the Inner Sphere from the Clans, only to have Jaime slap her down by telling the assembled Successor lords that the Clans are the descendants of Kerensky.

That's quite a bold statement to make.

I would point you toward any one of the DC Animated Universe series (Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League Unlimited, etc) or the newer Young Justice, or Avatar.

Or, for Kerensky's sake, The Venture Bros!

Same here but in the end, it's better off forgotten after MW2 and such providing a better narrative for new players.

The cartoon is still a good example of how to create a simple introduction to the BTU for new players.

I love this show, you can have a great a drinking game with it, you need to take a shot when:

1. Something is blatently wrong (Malthus calling his mech a Thor, guards with EI implants, Victor piloting a Mauler etc)
2. Everytime somebody says "engage enhanced imaging"
3. Each time Adam's hatchet gets shot out of his hand
4. When you hear "Information is ammunition"

You'll be plastered by the end of each episode.

Well, I for one am glad that that "distant" cousin of the Archon got to one day become the Archon in canon.
