I'll put in $200

I like the current orthos

NOOOOOO.... you will ruin me!! Count with me for 100$

Many thanks for the chance. It is a dream come true. I love the ortos, but I would love even more a better, less goofy looking gauss rifle. An alternative arm for a variant, the Lyran one with LBX20, would be great and would solve the problem.

I'd LOVE to do an alternate included arm so long as Mr. Behrle and Mike are kosher with it...  [watch]

I can do it for say an extra $100, just add it to the total for this Mech and Bob's yer Uncle.  Orthos necessary for this of course.

If it means variant parts then I'll kick in the extra $100.

That puts me at $300 total.

I kind of like the look of the orthos posted, but which artwork shows a Highlander with a full 20-tube LRM launcher?
None that I can recall.  There should be 10 tubes and the top of the launcher panel should be flush with the top of the boxy CT.

To add to that...

  • The SRM6 tubes on the left arm should be in a straight line and the launcher should be squared off on the ends.
  • Right torso MLs are in the wrong place.  They should be in the upper two of the three panels that fan out on the right side torso.
  • Center torso box is too wide, causing ML location problem above.
  • There is extra detail on top of the upper legs/hips that doesn't show up in any TRO artwork.
  • The inner, upper legs/hips curve downward.  TRO artwork does not reflect this (3025 revised excluded because it is so different from everything else).  They're a straight upward slant from outside to inside.
  • Head appears too squat and side armor panels taper backward when they should be straight up and down (perpendicular to top of head).
  • The neck should stand on top of the left, right, and center torsos.  This is partially the cause of the too-squat head.

I'd be fine with throwing in $50, since I did vote for the Highlander to be resculpted. However, I really don't want the orthos to be changed to reflect the TRO artwork that Cache posted, as again, it's basically just the old miniature translated into art. It would defeat the purpose of this funding.

The third sculpt of the Atlas doesn't really mirror the 3025/50 art; I don't see why the Highlander has to.

Lyran_Rainboom is 100% correct here. All Highlander art was taken into account to produce orthos/a resculpt akin to the latest Drew Williams Atlas. If you like the above art, then I don't see why you would be unhappy with the current miniature. ALL details from ALL Highlander images were referenced to produce what was considered by the QC team (with Ray and Brent art directing) to be the most appropriate for a resculpt.

My main request is that the new sculpt be posable. There really isn't much you can do to a current Highlander to make it look like it's doing anything other than slowly trudging forward without doing some SERIOUS cutting. Ideally, those who like the trudge can assemble theirs in such a manner, while those who like more action-y poses will be able to go for that as well.

That looks easy with that orthos. It almost looks like the elbows and knees go together like a Doloires elbow does.

I am pretty sure if will be like a lot of the recent minis that have multi part legs and such.

Are there any other variants that would require only minor changes such as a different arm or some such?

A left arm with 4 tubes instead of six is all you'd need for an HGN-736, though admittedly a standard arm and some material to fill the excess holes would do the same thing.

I don't think that would be a difficult modification for most folks. I think I'm good with the 734 and 733C.

TBH the 733C is going to be one of my go to units for SW era play. The timing couldn't be better either; I'm going to propose a SW campaign for my Alpha Strike group. Sure it'll be a bit before this mini becomes available but I think it will take me a bit to get the campaign going.

Between this and the Flashman the Lyrans should be looking good.

I almost put some into this one but I'm waiting for the Flashman.  I'll be picking up this guy though.  If it looks anything remotely like the orthos I'll be super happy (and the possibility will be very very welcome)
