Ran My First Game!
« on: 22 January 2023, 18:14:53 »
Just got done running my first AToW game today. Most of the time was flipping back in the QSR looking for rules for this and that. Other than that, it was fun. Going to run the 2012 Free RPG Day scenario next.

For this one, I made a mission dossier for the players. The stats and the tables are glued to a piece of chipboard.

Sorry about the size.

Thanks. Do you know of any in world examples of what orders or documents like that would look like?

And more game focused: is there a “hold action” mechanic?

Real world orders tend to follow the five-paragraph format: situation, mission, execution, admin & logistics, command & control.

Holding actions is on page 166 of AToW.  Basically, if you declare a held action, you can take your actions at any point later in the turn (even in the middle of another player's action), but once you start, you have to complete ALL your actions.
