I'm using this thread to post some of my designs. I like to draw the mech first, then give it stats and fluff. (Usually this works out, but not always...)

Ok, here's another one. straight from RWR factories. I always imagined Rim Worlds mechs, especially pre-Star League, as having a blocky, workmanlike form. You be the judge *shrug*

Would you take ideas?

Something like a Kuritain Hatchetman-5K verse a Davion Hatchetman-6D.

Scene: City street : Battle of the Block fight. Kurita jumps with downward swing of sword hitting with MRM-30 and lasers, while the Davion uppercuts with its hatchet and blasting away with the RAC and laser fire, from kneeling postion. 6D just got slammed into a building that is crumbling down, cars are half bent in the foreground. 5K is with crippling damage and sword is damaged, 6D is getting wasted and hammered by MRM fire. And the winner is?

Just a thought and Idea.

I can't help it, this one reminds me of a Tauren from WoW :P The styling reminds me a lot of the Protomech artworks.

I like the idea 8) Problem is, I don't know when I'd be able to do something so complicated, I've got a lot on my plate right now, and Carnaval coming up, the time when nothing gets done ::)

I like the rear mounted weapons in a turret. However based off the visible weapons and slenderness of the legs I've got it pegged more as a high end medium or low end heavy, not an assault mech.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I was never really satisfied; it lacks bulk. I just chalk it up to the compact components :P

I would've said it was half Tarantula (body) and half Scorpion (legs) with a Goliath turret thrown on top for good measure. But that's no problem. Draw from reference, whether they be other mechs or real world machines. The more reference you soak up, the greater your internal knowledge will be and the more you can start to make the basis less obvious. Take a bit from this, bit from that, and throw on some of your own creativity and people won't be able to recognize the influences (including yourself, since many times a person pulls from other sources without realizing it).

I like where you're going with this latest concept. Kind of an Archer meets Mongoose vibe.

You'll have to ink it once you get the initial sketch done.
