The only manga series I get anymore is Case Closed, Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Shinji Ikari Raising Project and Black Lagoon (whenever a new volume gets released)...

There's a few others I need to get some last few volumes to complete, but these are the only ongoing ones I'm getting right now...

You've missed out on a lot then...the manga has gone past Roberta's Blood Trail...and, IIRC, that storyline also had something in it the anime did not...Roberta had a .50 cal sniper rifle with an undermounted grenade launcher...  ;D

Just read little bit of Moee-chan wa Ki ni Shinai.  Don't translate it directly... ;D
It's about a school who doesn't give a *blank* what happens. She basically has no reaction to anything that happens to her. It's a gag comic.  First chapter Moee there attempt's to kidnapped her by UFO which looks like Cosmo from G1 Transformers.

I've gotten into manga i found name Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki.
It's about middle age man who plays a (Virtual Reality MMO) VRMMO called "One More Free Life Online" under the username "Earth". The game itself is a fantasy setting where he is free choose chose several skills that are generally regarded as useless. Be it wasting time crafting potions, cooking up pointlessly tasty food, or hunting monsters with some absurd weapon he crafted, he simply enjoys playing the game.

Essentially it's video-game related title, but mix of adventuring/comedy/story and odd reason food is pretty enjoyable.  I

So Dungeon Meshi almost killed me today.

Eating the edible treasure bugs and throwing away the inedible stuff mixed in, aka the ACTUAL treasure.

I have some kind of respiratory infection, and it made me laugh so hard that I coughed for almost thirty seconds. I swear, my toes and fingertips were tingling by the time I was done.

Just re-read entire Dungeon Meshi series so far.  I missed couple chapters, man that guy who does this is super talented.  Level detail to the story while still making it serious dungeon adventure is great.  Mad Sorcerer/Sorceress  thing turning to another level.  only think i'm upset about is that the party doesn't seem have much of reaction of the sister's disappearance aside from trying find her.  She likely to have been changed into a dragon since the Mad just see her as such. I really like the sister...

You know that's very plausible. Treasure bugs and mimic in a symbiote relationship; the bugs paralyze the party while the mimic distract them.

IIRC there was a monster very similar to the treasure bugs in Forgotten Realms in AD&D. Have to look for it.

Manga cuts off a number of scenes. Then again, so does anime compared to light novels (first appearance of Wiz got left out from anime and she is introduced via narration). Anime expands some of the other scenes though (cabbage harvest). Now this has benefit neither of the two (light novels & anime that is) doesn't exclude the other and seeing both provides more comprehensive story. But manga doesn't seem to add anything new. I guess manga could be used to introduce the franchise to your friends though...

Incidentally I bought manga by accident when I was going for light novel. Reading the manga is no fun on tiny screen of my iPhone 4 (iBooks app), I don't know a way to get it on larger screen of my Windows machines (desktop, laptop & tablet), and I'm not gonna buy iPad for it >:(

So I'm getting a Blu-Ray burner in the mail soon and I decided that now was the time to rearchive my comic collection, all of it, as carefully sorted cbrs.Well, technically I'm rearchiving EVERYTHING, but the manga is probably most relevant here.

I'm finding things I did not know I had, especially fan translations from long ago, and it's taking a LOT of willpower to not read Appare Jipangu or Akira again or Kamichu - I had no idea what that last one was, it was just sitting there on one of my disks, and I had to stop myself after the first chapter lest I lose a few hours to it.

On the other hand, I'm finding things that I'll never want to read again. Hana Kimi? I have no idea what compelled me to read it the first time. Legend of Basara? A supposed classic that I find just dreadfully boring, for some reason I can't pin down.

I'm also finding stuff that I never finished, probably because the translation reached the current chapter and I just... forgot about it.

Still, I think I'm looking at around 50ish gigs of manga. That is... pretty significant.

I recommend external hard disk drives for long term back ups. Terabyte has been under 100 € for several years (10 years?) by now, and bottom prices are probably around 50 € for external HDD. Great for backing up anime DVDs, and I expect HDD with little of use to last for tens of years while optical recordable discs (NOT disk damn it >:() don't last 20 years (could be some exceptions to the rule).

It's....so ****** up and that's keeping me reading it.
Berserk is the manliest thing in the world, just barely edging out the Krupp Excavator 288 and handily beating the P51 Mustang. There is just SOMETHING about it that draws you and keeps you. "The world IS going to kill me, but I'll still spit in its eye and go down swinging, damn it all!"

I recommend external hard disk drives for long term back ups. Terabyte has been under 100 € for several years (10 years?) by now, and bottom prices are probably around 50 € for external HDD. *looks at stuff*

I'm sitting on at least 10 terabytes of data that need to be backed up. At LEAST. It's not just manga; it's old TV shows and movies that I prefer in a computer format over a DVD format for usability (or that you can't GET in dvds, like the full Mystery Science Theater 3000 or Wizard of Space & Time), RPG books, games of various formats... and of course all the hentai that I've collected over the years. I'm finding doujinshi I never knew I had.

A 6 tb disk may cost around $150-200USD, but a 50-disk spindle of Blu-Rays costs $25 and holds 1.25tb. For the same amount of money, I can archive 10tb total.

As far as lifespan goes, some of the DVDs I've been pulling data from are ten years old now and still working fine. I never expect these Blu-Rays to last me forever; but they'll last long enough to transition to something more expansive and permanent. According to testing, burnable BDRs last 50ish years. Not that I really believe that, mind you, but they should last for a long time.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have the storage space to simply have them, but I'm a data hoarder. I've also had my fair share of HDD failures, and the thought of trusting EVERYTHING to one point of failure... at least the disks break it up into 25gb chunks so that in theory I could recover them. Hell, they're cheap enough that I could archive every disk twice.

Oh, gods, I just found Imouto Wa Shisunki - it's a hilarious 4koma comedy about an absolutely perverted highschool girl and her poor brother, always the butt of her punchlines.... No... cannot read it, must keep working....

EDIT: And the next one I go to is Kabu no Isaki, by the same mangaka as YKK. I forgot I got that! My willpower is being tested!

As far as lifespan goes, some of the DVDs I've been pulling data from are ten years old now and still working fine.
On CD-Rs and DVD-Rs i've had failure rates of around 10-15% after fifteen years scaling over a larger amount (around 1700 discs), with a trend to rapidly go up once they go past ten years; for scale, the stated estimated life expectancy for non-rewritable CDs and DVDs is around 100 years under optimal conditions.

I've since moved on to external HDDs - identical 3 TB models - for archiving which have each run only a few hundred hours in the last five years, and with not-otherwise-recoverable things copied to multiple HDDs.

I plan on picking up the novel of Your Name tomorrow at Barnes and Noble. (I loved the movie).
We hear that there are tumults and riots in Rome, and that voices are raised concerning the army and the quality of our soldiers. Make haste to reassure us that you love and support us as we love and support you, for if we find that we have left our bones to bleach in these sands in vain, then beware the fury of the legions.

That long? I recall reading from somewhere reliable life expectancy for CD-ROM would be 25 years. In home conditions maybe? And I have had CD-ROM failure to occur in less than 10 years for MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries, and MekTek has pulled the game offline >:(
