IWM at Origins 2015
« on: 21 May 2015, 22:52:26 »
I made the announcement for IWM at Origins. Also created a 2015 Convention Specials thread that will contain all of the new stuff and it will be updated as other things are announced.

Also, we are hoping the 2nd Quarter Releases will make it to the show, but will not know until at the last moment.

I posted the Alpha and Numerical Battletech list for Origins. Also the list of small BT items as well. These PDF files are downloads to the announcement post linked in the above thread.

Is it wise to guess IWM orders made recently (like May 29) will not be going out til after Origins?  :(

Should not really affect shipping times of orders since there will still be people at the factory.

Just as a friendly heads up to folks, there was also at least one Rifleman 1N there.  Justin snagged one.  It's a sexy looking mini in person.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

I heard some certain dice sold out at Origins.    O0  8)   Does anyone know if any of the LAMs sold out?   ???
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

How did the Primitive Rifleman sell?

I'm willing to bet that any numbers on the Rifleman will be skewed by how literally no one knew it would be there, and relatively few people even noticed it was.

Fair point Scotty.

It has been a long time since I was last in front of a wall of pewter in blister packs trying to figure out what to buy with my limited funds. When the kids are older I am going to have to convince the wife that we need to time our North American holiday so that I can get to Origins or GenCon  >:D

Feenix,

Try Chicago. Games Plus, in Mount Prospect, Illinois. It's like game shops were back in the 1980s, except it has playing areas too.  I drooled.

Yes, a bit out of our usual way, but I also got the opportunity to meet and play with WolfReaper, GreyWolfActual, OrangeWoman, GreatSarcasmo, and a bunch of other forumites.

Cheers and thanks Worktroll  O0

I will add that to the plan, it will be many years away before we can afford to do the trip. The main thrust of the trip will be to do Vancouver (to visit my extended family) plus the Rocky Mountains in Canada. We might "slum it" and go south of the border for a little bit too, my wife is a Chicago Fire fan, so may be I can use that to get her to Chicago. I think I will have to visit Cincinnati and see if I can impose on the IWM team for a quick tour of the factory too.

Unfortunately, my organisation only has an office in Washington DC. For me to get a junket over there would involve snowflakes and hell.

Libertyville...I used to live out that way & worked in Vernon Hills! LOL Small world...especially considering where you're from.

I have to agree on Games Plus. Definitely old school "80's" style game store. The owners there are pretty cool...I just don't live close enough now.

It was good to see all the good people at IWM.

I wish there was a way to get the Resin Battlestar Stuff and the fighters, thru the IWM website.

Are those apcs really  80 cents? Or should it be $8? Either way it's a great price, especially if there are two per pack

$0.80 each.  They were on sale individually.  Packs will come by 8s, if I remember right.

BT-319 Wheeled APC $0.80
BT-320 Tracked APC $0.90
BT-321 Hover APC $1.00

Those were the prices per unit at Origins.  I bought 2 of each, they're adorable.

Edit: rereading your post, the actual mini's are pretty small, I posted pics here.
