Iron wind metals at Gencon 2011
« on: 03 August 2011, 18:24:41 »
Iron Wind Metals will be at Gencon - Booth 1803, right in front next to Catalyst Game Labs.
We will have our usual line up of BattleTech and Fantasy miniatures, along with our con limited editions for this year - The Jumping Rifleman IIC  and Jumping Rifleman RFL-7X, as well as our other con limited edition mechs.

Also we will have almost all of the online exclusive BT and FT selections.

In addition, we will have limited quantities of pre-release sets of the September Bounty Hunter release-

10-050 The Bounty Hunter Set - Includes B.H. Mad Cat S Mech, B.H. Marauder II Mech, and 28mm scale B.H. Night Hawk Power Armor - $24.95

10-051 Bounty Hunter “Companion” Mechs - Includes Phoenix Hawk -3M, Cauldron Born A, Javelin-11D, and SHD-1Primitive Shadow Hawk - $39.95
All so, for the 1st time in many years, we will have limited quantities of our Mech Scale Leopard Dropship now re-available for a limited time for $59.95. We'll have less than 20 of these, so they are likely to go fast.
Hope to see you all at the show...

Saw the pictures of the finished Bounty Hunter sets (http://www.scrapyardarmory.com/2011/08/04/gencon-2011-day-1/) and they are simply awesome. Looking forward to them in September.
How fast were they sold out?

So what's the difference between the standard Marauder II mini and the BH one?  It doesn't really look that different.

If they did it right, it should have two laser ports in each arm with the PPC as well, as per both the Interstellar Players record sheet and the artwork in that book. I don't know if that happened or not, but that's the thing that jumps out at me first and foremost about the visual changes.

Hrm. My only problem with the Primitive Shadow Hawk is that it's way out of scale with everything around it. And the AC/5 barrel is this huge piece off the top of the mech.

Hmmm...hard to tell from the pic, but the scale looks fine to me.

I'm just happy it went into production after the uncertainty of whether or not it was too close to the unseen.

So am I, it just looks a little too bulky in comparison to everything but the MAD-II. Especially the cockpit :-\

i just hate the pose it's in, i'm hoping the legs can be changed. does anyone who's seen it know?
"Warriors, not war machines, are the backbone of the Hell's Horses. While others worship the BattleMech as the ultimate weapon, the men and women of this Clan see even this awesome piece of technology as the tool it is. We have held to this philosophy since the days of our first Khan, who knew that the value of the common soldier far outstripped the brute force of the BattleMech. It is one reason our Clan possesses fewer mechs than most, and has led many to underestimate our fierceness and courage. Our survival against all challengers when others have fallen proves the folly of such arrogance, and testifies to the wisdom of our founders."

The mad cat isn't even close to the one from ISP so I doubt the Mad II is either. (Its accurate for the mad cat S. Just not for the recordsheet in ISP)

I was looking forward to a missile-less mad cat.

That's the -3K model.

The mini or the model BlazingSky is describing? BlazingSky is describing the 3M. The 3K is 2 ERLL and 2 ERML.

The mini looks like it has two large lasers of some variety vs a single plasma rifle.

In all honesty, I don't think we have a very good angle for looking at the minis. I look forward to other pictures in the future.

As I recall, the Phoenix Hawk in the Bounty Hunter set is supposed to be a PP-3K.

From Speck's release thread:
Quote
10-050 The Bounty Hunter Set (2 mechs & 28mm scale power armor bounty hunter fig) $24.95
Includes B. H. Mad Cat S Mech, B. H. Marauder II Mech, and B. H. Night Hawk Power Armor.
10-051 Bounty Hunter “Companion” Mechs (4 mechs) $39.95
Includes Phoenix Hawk -5L, Cauldron Born A, Javelin-11D, and SHD-1Primitive Shadow Hawk

The PHX looks more like a 3M or 3K than a 5L. We'll see when it comes out and if any dossiers are released about that time.

(I'm still getting it.)

I see they have locations on the underside for the docking collar and the landing gear.  I thinking of building up the gear from custom parts, but I've never seen it anywhere.  Have you?
