I believe his exact words were: "There'll be no sympathy for the devil."

I have no idea why that sticks in my memory, but it does.

Because Rolling Stones.
"Ah, yes.  The belle dame sans merci.  The sweet young thing who will blast your nuts off.  The kitten with a whip.  That mystique?"
"Slavish adherence to formal ritual is a sign that one has nothing better to think about."
"Variety is the spice of battle."
"I've fought in... what... a hundred battles, a thousand battles?  It could be a million as far as I know.  I've fought for anybody who offered a decent contract and a couple who didn't.  And the universe is not much different after all that.  I could go on fighting for another hundred years and it would still look the same."
"I'm in mourning for my life."
"Those who break faith with the Unity shall go down into darkness."

An important thing to remember is the throne room massacre was just the straw that broke the camel's back. A few sourcebooks, even operation klondike show that the Usurper and his people were responsiblinde for masses of crimes against humanity. One included sealing hundreds or thousands of people in a mine and leaving them there until the SLDF found the "survivors".

It also says a lot about Humanity that these were kind of ignored by the great Houses.  Heck, when you have KURITA offering more help (at greater risk) to the SLDF than Marik, you know it's frakked up.

(And in Kurita's case I mean help as in not stopping them when the family is in a hostage situation)
Alamo - When you care enough to send the very best.

And Purifiers *still* suck.
