Almost there....

Almost like we're waiting for some other major milestone to update.

(Okay, $750k would have been a good time to do it too, but...)

Looking at the FAQ . . . are the IS Lances not going to be part of the Salvage Box?

Doesn't look like it from the way I read it.

Does anyone know (or have a rough idea) how much shipping to the UK would be?

From the way I read it the "Salvage Box" is essentially a random Clan Omni added to each IS Lance to balance out the price for the IS Lances & Clan Stars being the same price.

Wait, is that right? Will Inner Sphere lance packs chosen as part of pledge levels be augmented this way?

That would change quite a bit of my calculus with regard to moving up a level or two.

Yes, if taken as a reward choice (Lance or Star and you choose Lance), you get an extra salvage box.

We won't know until the pledge manger goes live.  But CGL have said they're planning to have a European distribution hub so hopefully it won't be too much (and will allow for avoiding import duty inside the EU)

Yes, which is why they say no matter what you get X amount of mechs on the base pledge- so for example Star Colonel is listed as 55 and Bloodnamed is 25.  Star Colonel gets 5 doubled sets (Star or Lance + 1 Salvage Box) and the 5 from the Invasion Box so not matter how you order, its 55 mechs for the base . . . though now with rewards its 67 mechs for Star Colonel.

Of course, if you just use add-ons to get IS Lances, you only get 4 'mechs for your $20... hence why I'm waiting for IS pledge levels to go above $1.

Also, Cubby... if exposure of the KS is what you want, I STRONGLY recommend putting a link to it in the first post of this thread too, and not make people finding this one first navigate to the other one.

Colt: the one flaw with their nefarious plan is that you can't get 67 Inner Sphere 'mechs that way...

No guarantee the UK will still be part of the EU after October 31st so we'll just have to wait & see.

I can't remember the number right now, but the Sprawl Ops shipping was reasonable.

This whole “let’s choose a clan and color scheme” thing is complicated.  The Imperio Escorpión interests me personally, but it’s hard to work them into the story.  I like the Ghost Bears’ Alpha Galaxy scheme, and they don’t die, but I find it hard to get excited about the clan itself.

I like the post-3100 Sea Fox Spina Khanate color scheme, but it’ll be a long while before I play in that era (I was just going to wait until we’re all playing in 3250).  Diamond Shark’s logo seems silly, but I do like the sound of their clan culture and a couple of their color schemes… both of which turn out to belong to galaxies left behind on the homeworlds.  That’s not going to work with what my gaming group has.  Hmm… this isn’t easy!

On another note - as a pretty new player, what gameplay effect does it have if the star packs I get are biased towards light or heavy mechs?  I like the Clan Invasion box mechs and those in the Command Star.  After that, I’m trying to choose between the Fire Star (light-biased) and the Heavy Battle Star (2 assaults, 2 heavies, 1 medium).  Any downsides to using mechs at the extreme ends of the weight scale?

No guarantee the UK will still be part of the EU after October 31st so we'll just have to wait & see.

I can't remember the number right now, but the Sprawl Ops shipping was reasonable.

It was $26 to Ireland.

Yeah, to break it down:

From the $140k stretch goal, Star Captain and Bloodnamed backers get a salvage box, Star Colonel and above get 2
Then, from the $500k stretch goal, Ristars, Star Commanders and Star Captains get an additional salvage box, Bloodnamed get 2.

So that's:
Ristars: 1 free salvage box
Star Commanders: 1 free box
Star Captain: 2 free boxes
Bloodnamed: 3 boxes
Star Colonel and above: 2 free boxes.

On top of this, every lance pack you select as a reward comes with a free salvage box, so you're getting 5 mechs regardless of whether you select a lance or a star pack.

So let's say a Star Colonel-level backer picks 6 lance packs as their reward. They get 12 packs of 4 Inner Sphere mechs each, plus 14 salvage packs - 2 from the stretch goal and 12 as a result of their pack selection.

By comparison, a Star Colonel backer who picks 6 star packs as their reward will get 12 packs of 5 clan mechs each, plus 2 salvage packs from the stretch goal.

BYE

They can cause issues, yes, and they become overly difficult to read on things other than a computer.  So as a typical forum guideline we cap threads at 50 pages, and start a new one.  We let the prior Kickstarter thread run longer than that, but we made the decision to cap it where we did and launch a second one.

Make the million dollar stretch goal a 12" plush UrbanMech and you'll hit it in 6 hours.
