Raising Piloting/Gunnery Scores
« on: 16 May 2018, 20:20:38 »
Playing with BV2 for a game is their a way to move up or down your P/G values for raising and lowering BV? If so what book is it in? I'm having a memory lapse at the moment.

TechManual

He's right, the BV Skill Multiplier Table is on page 315 of Tech Manual, and if you're playing with canon units, look them up on the MUL and check the chart at the very bottom of the page, you'll find a similar chart specific to that unit.

The errata link for techmanual has an errata'd table, and is an easy free odd download.
No-Dachi has a counter-argument. Nothing further? Ok.

My mistake then: it talks about force size and multipliers so I was under the impression that that was for Lances and Stars and what not.

Oh, feel free to ignore the Force Size Modifier if your book still has that. It was removed completely in an errata several years back, and I don't think a single player misses it.

yeah, the "conservation of ninjutsu rule" was one of those "it looks really good until you use it" rules-though it does explain Aidan Pryde's ER Small Laser of Dhoooom!!! quite handily, since to get that result, all you needed was: 1 lone Clanner and 12 opposing units-with FSM in effect, the opposing units wound up with somewhere between 7/8 and 8/9 piloting/gunnery scores, in 3025 'mechs with pre-existing damage to 'balance' the fight-and that's assuming a 0/0 clanner gunnery/piloting on an optimized rig.

I do want to post that we did like 3,500 BV2 per player: four players took Assaults (Dire Wolf, two different Awesomes, a Berserker, and an Atlas) one player took a Spider and a Jenner and jacked up their P/G numbers and the like six turns they lasted they couldnt miss and dodged about thirty PPC shots between them.... then the Dire Wolf Ultra AC/20'ed one to the face.

There are few things in this world that an AC/20 to the face can't fix.

Well... except unrequited love.

I don't know . . . if you hit someone with an unrequited love in the face with an AC/20 they wont have much of a brain with which too feel said love (or anything else for that matter)

So obviously what needs to happen is naming the AC/20 "Unrequited Love" so that you can actually kill someone with it. "Oh no! I just took a full blast of Unrequited Love to the face!"
