Red Bull Air races might be interesting.

Team events with competitions to down opponent fighters for some reason? Down the entire team or enough and the team must withdraw?

Le Mans with Fighters and weapons sounds entertaining, if highly dangerous.

Anything in orbit?  Salt the map with TV satellites you're penalized to damage but which might affect LOS ?
