I am not a graphic designer, or an artist, or even a computer guy. I'm a late-30s trial lawyer with a bunch of kids running around. I don't really have anyone to play Battletech with (until my kids grow up) and my job and family take so much time I doubt I'd get much play time anyway. Regardless, I've decided to start another little project on these forums---Signature Bars.

Signature Bars are actually what I wanted to try to make before I made the Faction Banners. I didn't like how my sig bars looked and then I got the idea of advertising banners we see at the tops and bottoms of websites and the rest is history.

I've been too busy to make any banners as of late due to my wife giving birth yet again and the lost time at work putting me in a bind. But I've been sick since last Friday and my loss is your gain. While I did score a good 12 hours of sleep, and while I'm about to go to sleep again, I did manage to find a little time to finally make some signature bars for y'all's consideration:

I'm sorry if your faction is not currently represented. I am amazed I did as many as I did without passing out. Will I make more? That depends on how these are received (after all, I'm not in it for the money) and my time (which is rather precious these days). Am I done making faction banners? Absolutely not. I just know that some don't like the wide banners with their witty sayings and prefer something simpler. There are many fine signature bars out there. I just wanted to show what they could look like HikageMaru-style.

Yes---when time affords. Right now I'm focusing on the big-picture but we'll get there eventually.

So I notice you have new factions for most groups (Sea Fox rather than Diamond Shark, Raven Alliance rather than Clan Snow Raven and the Outworlds Alliance), but are still using Clan Ghost Bear rather than the Rasalhauge Dominion (or even the Ghost Bear Dominion)

I like the Clan Ghost Bear symbol. I don't like the Ghost Bear Dominion's symbol (but I'll get to it eventually).

I've been experimenting with different ways of rendering the text---let me know if it works.

Also, while I don't know when I'll be able to get to it (presuming I'm able to resume full-time work tomorrow), I'll take requests for specific units, et cetera, if anyone is interested.

I guess there is nothing anywhere that indicates the actual colors of their insignia?

I had to give this some creative license in that I don't know of any publication explaining the colors of the 1st Fed Sun's Lancer RCT's insignia. I know their parade colors are blue and gold, but that doesn't mean that their insignia matches it and is camouflaged into their paint scheme. It appears that the limited corpus of information out there shows that the other Fed Sun Lancers had a red background, so I presumed the same for this. I'm sure after slaving away at this for the past hour and a half, someone will drop a source showing that the background of the shield should be green and the dragon is hot pink and sports a yellow polkadot bikini. Oh well, I'm going to bed.

I do not know about BirdofPrey, but I think mine is just about perfect as is.  I feel like that line from the remembrance perfectly sums up the core of what makes the Bears really special to me, and the banner is absolutely beautiful.  It would be nice if it incorporated the ideology of the FRR merger in some way, but the Dominion logo is not nearly as good looking as the Clan Ghost Bear logo and the core feeling behind the merger is really summed up by that quote so I do not think it could realistically be improved.
