Yayoi Island is located 682 km northeast of Hawaiishima, (home to MAWs) part of the Hyakunoshima Archipelago that ranges slightly north and south of the equator in the eastern hemisphere. Yayoi sits on a hot spot just north of the equator. It is 8765 km northwest of the northern tip of Tairiku, within the Teikoku Miyama, and is part of the Honowa, one of three overlapping volcanic rings in the northern hemisphere of the planet Nejiro. The tropical island is 10567 sq. km, 163 km across at its widest, with 1284 km of coastline. Yayoi has a total full time resident population of almost seventeen thousand. It is mostly untouched rainforest, except for the four towns and Lartani, a large valley near the center of the island north of the Keliki Sanmyaku where the agriculture of the island is based. Yayoi grows several organic varieties of sugar cane, pineapple, papaya, mango, ginger, guava, litchi, rice, coconut, avocado, breadfruit, citrus, passion fruit, taro, yam, tamarind, garden vegetables, herbs, spices, tea, coffee, cocoa, ornamental and edible flowers, macadamia nuts, flax, silkworms, hemp, ramie, free range poultry, cattle, and boar, along with several different breeds of horses and dogs. The town of Himawari  converges the roads and rail lines leading into the valley from the coastline. There are two resort towns, Greenpoint is located on the northeast coast, a surfers paradise named for the green waves on the point break. Destin is located on the west coast of the island on Tranquil Bay, it is a popular stop for cruise ships, and offers diverse recreation; that includes ukiyo pleasure districts, ryokan, onsen, yacht clubs, spas, resort hotels, shopping, polo grounds, theme parks, amusements and attractions on the streets of fun, casinos, dance clubs, race tracks, social clubs, casual to fine dining, live theaters, movie theaters, live houses, a range of outdoor activities and sports on sea and land from beaches to trails, playgrounds, and parks. On the southeast coast is the town of Okaji . It is both a small commercial sea port on Mikadzuki Bei, and light industrial center that includes textiles, glassmakers, kaolin clay mining, pottery, tourism related manufacturing, microalgae farms, black lava sea salt mines, sea salt farms, aquaculture, marine biotech, solar technology, marine technology, industrial ceramics, agricultural processing, and agricultural manufacturing. It is home to the commercial regional airport Ladybird Aerodrome, it serves many islands in the archipelago.

Keliki Sanmyaku runs diagonally across Yayoi and features five volcanoes. Snow topped Mt. Zal in the northeast, a post shield volcano, is 4247 masl and over 32000 cubic kilometers. It is so massive that the ocean crust is depressed beneath it by six kilometers. Measured from its base on the ocean floor it rises over ten thousand meters and is the highest point in the Hyakunoshima Archipelago. Mt. Zal is approximately one million years old and last erupted about six thousand years ago, it is considered a dormant volcano. Greenpoint is about sixty four kilometers west, as the crow flies. South of Mt Zal is Qhurupuna, (2105 masl) a dormant shield volcano that has not erupted for more than 100,000 years, whose slopes are covered in yellow, gold, and orange flowers, moths, and butterflies. Its known locally as Goldie. Southwest of Qhurupuna is Mt. Okmok, a 9.3 kilometer wide circular caldera truncates the top of the large shield volcano, (1073 masl) currently Tulip Lake fills 150 of the 475 meter deep crater. Mt Okmok is still active, but has not erupted in hundreds of years. Southeast of Mt. Okmok is the active shield volcano Kurosuna Yama which is composed mostly of basalt , with an elevation of 1676 masl and a prominence of 790 m, the large irregularly shaped summit caldera measures 4 by 3.2 km with walls up to 120 meters high. Its eruptive history is long and extensive, the oldest exposed lava dates to more than 30000 years old. Most eruptions flow from fissures down its southeastern flank into the Hilina Rift Valley and then on into Byron Bay, known for its steep cliffs and exotic black sand beaches that can only be accessed by sea. The town of Okaji is eighty seven kilometers southwest of Kurosuna Yama, as the crow flies. Domuyo Kazan on the southwest coast of Yayoi is more than 365,000 years old and has been continuously erupting since April 3033, starting with an event that generated a three hundred meter high lava fountain, that still pulses like a heartbeat, though recently its not as high, and has added 93 ha of new land to the island in the succeeding years. The shield volcano is 1732 masl and its caldera is 15 km wide, its slopes are covered in fumaroles, hot springs, and geysers. The town of Destin is one hundred and six kilometers north, as the crow flies.

ISLAND VOLCANO EJECTS TOWERING COLUMN OF ASH

100 Striking Pictures of Eruption

3068 April 3, evening edition

Three days ago on the island of Yayoi at four am local time, the volcano Kurosuna Yama erupted explosively, with an energy equivalent to a magnitude 5.3 earthquake, throwing lava and ash over 9000 meters into the air, with accumulation of as many as five centimeters of ash on the ground. Rising hot air pushed by the wind caused rotations that spun quickly, forming whirlwinds. They are still visible at the summit where the surface is cracking, and there is inward slumping of the rim and the walls of the crater in response to the ongoing subsidence. Lava is still pouring forth from a six kilometer wide flow following previous patterns east into the ocean at Byron Bay, releasing multiple laze plumes and lava bombs from molten lava spilling into the cool ocean. The lava hardens and is then catapulted into the air scattering red hot projectiles as many as one thousand meters, some as large as basketballs, along with clouds of acid, toxic gas, and fine glass. The volcano is sending out twenty six times the amount of lava per second than it did in the 3016 eruption, and has created a new strip of land more than a kilometer long off the Byron Bay coast. The NPO Sea Patrol has ordered all sea traffic to stand off at least 500 meters from the coastline, NGS and SAR vehicles are of course exempt. Vog containing acidic aerosols that damages the environment and impairs lung function, caused by gas plumes from the erupting volcano, has enveloped the island. All air traffic, except for NGS and SAR vehicles have been grounded. Yayoi residents are advised to stay indoors. The eruption was accompanied by several earthquakes, the strongest registering at 5.8 magnitude, followed by several smaller quakes, now occurring at the rate of 15 to 25 per hour, that are expected to continue leading up to another collapse/explosion event at the summit within the nest thirty six hours. It is suspected that these quakes in conjunction with recent heavy rains caused the opening of a new fissure yesterday which began spurting lava vigorously in fountains pulsing to heights of 55 meters which then spew into a three kilometer wide flow. The flow has already covered 25 square kilometers at speeds up to 13 kph southwest of the summit, causing several methane explosions as it moves through areas with heavy vegetation. This flow is now threatening Kosai, an outlying suburban community near the northeastern edge of the town of Okaji with more than 600 residents. There are no tsunami warning at this time.

Mayor Hiram Fong of Okaji has declared an emergency and ordered the mandatory evacuation of Kosai this morning. He has activated the coastal emergency/eruption plan. Masks are mandatory outdoors due to atmospheric conditions, protective eyewear is strongly recommended. All businesses and public buildings have been closed except for those associated with emergency management. Retail stores selling groceries and survival supplies have a twelve hour window to reduce their inventory at a fifty percent discount across the board. Wholesale warehouses will donate needed inventory to previously authorized emergency management representatives to supply the relief effort. Properly filed relief requests will return at least twenty five percent business losses due to this crisis. Mayor Fong has requested assistance with the evacuation, and disaster relief aid from Delm Saganami, Eduard Maynard the MP for the Hawera Chiku, the Minister of Public Safety Lidia Lovegoode, and the Minister of Emergency Management Janek Stilinski. Okaji residents have been strongly advised to evacuate to the sea, at least two kilometers offshore. If personal vessels are not available, please see the list of passenger and cargo vessels that have volunteered to assist due to the crisis and register for transport berths [#okajievacuatebysea]. You may also obtain transport at the Harbormaster's office and be assigned a berth on a vessel as they become available. Please refer to [#evacuationchecklist] and ensure you have all the necessary items with you. Berths will be available for pets, they MUST be in carriers, please ensure all pet tags match carrier tags. Gordon Nakayama the local spokesperson for StarTrain announced this morning they have volunteered several of their high speed, and touring trains exclusively for emergency evacuation of Okaji residents to Destin, please refer to [#startrainemergency] for information and instructions. As of this morning, all freight transport still on the move to Okaji has been redirected to Himawari where possible. All roads within twenty five kilometers of Okaji have been closed except for emergency vehicle use and marked southbound and westbound evacuation traffic ONLY. All incoming rail traffic was notified to be turned back, or held at their current station last evening and closed till further notice after reports came in of deformed rail lines caused by the earthquakes.

Just like when Mt St Hlens poped all the ash and other items that got shot in to the air. Aircraft engines get real mad when solid things go through them.
Add in the other gases. Most are real fun with combustion.
Last off the static electricity.
Not the best place to fly.

Just the area around the island. The no fly zone is for non rescue operations.

Nejiro News 1
Nejiro Rescue, Militia and DCMS personal worked very hard to bring all civilians so safety after the eruption the Kurosuna Yama volcano. All of these groups risked much to see to the safety of the civilians on the island. Due to the people none of the civilians had any major injuries and only a few of the rescue personal suffered any injuries. Nijero thanks all that worked on this very dangerous mission.

The Dakuu-orianyusu
Yes the government gives thanks to the works for picking up after they do nothing. They have to have the Dragon’s warriors do the work that the sell swords they brought to the world could not. They have the brave people of this world do the dangerous work while the sell swords sit at base and do nothing. What price will the ones that stay out of danger have you pay? Nejiro you have a better way and it is just waiting for you to ask.

Shin no wadopuresu
They brave members of the Nejiro Rescue service and Militia work hard for this world. The DCMS looks to take credit for a milor roll in this effort. The DCMS is looking to make this world part of the combine. Is this what you want after all this time making this world yours? Good people this is your world and you have worked very hard to make it what it is. Why would let a government that has not looked after you for so long now tell you what to do? Why let this government you have now let this happen? Good people open your eyes. They people that are in charge are bringing this world closer to Draconis rule.

“GSF control to Kiah’s Hammers, we have a report of Battlemechs and armor moving on rest station 829. We need you to dispatch forces to protect the rest station.”
“Roger Control I will inform that Major ASAP. Do you have any idea of the force size?”
“Roger that Hammers. Looks like the unit that attacked the station before.”

“GSF control to The Hands of the Goddess, Areal recon has a large force moving to Camp Kaki.”
“Copy that control. Do you have unit size and make up?”
“Roger that Goddess. Unit is a company size. They are a mixed company in size. A lance of ‘Mechs, a platoon of armor and a pair of Karnov transports going by the EM from the force.”
“Copy control. The Captain will get forces rolling.”

“GSF control to Winter’s Dream. Looks like we found the rest of the Clan force you just tangled with. They are heading to a grounded DropShip. Looks like they don’t like how they have been treated.”
“Roger control. How large of a force?”
“Seven (7) Battlemechs. They are moving like they are still damaged from the battle a couple months back.”

OK next missions for you.
You get to pick what forces you want for these missions.
Do keep in mind you have other duties so pick your force well

“Roger control. How large of a force?”
“Seven (7) Battlemechs. They are moving like they are still damaged from the battle a couple months back.”

“Kapten Bjornsen to GSF Control. Confirmed on the roll out. Will give updates when enemy situation has been dealt with.” Marius sighed when he was finished delivering the message. “Gods damn it! Of course I get the clanners waltzing through my area while they are heading towards their transport. I think we’ll need Lt. Mikelsen and Lt. Dammerung to both use the majority of their units for this. Get Ice Queen and Hunting Moon up for the mech detachment, but remind Ice Queen that Tyr is in charge this mission. Monsoon and Gale are going to join Squall in the vehicle detachment. Blood Moon, the 72nd LRMs, Winter’s Wish, and the 151st SRMs will join to provide support.” Marius smiled, “That should be enough firepower, I hope.”

“Let’s leave the battle armor, the new units, and the Jackal at home. I also don’t want the bondsmen facing their former comrades just yet. Have the 11th engineers reinforce the base defenses, as well. Don’t want have Tyr come back to rubble.”

Marius stroked his stubble covered chin, “Sergeant, find out if we can get some airborne assets to harass the Dropship. Maybe we can create pressure to cause the clanners to rush. If not, see if they’ll clear a spec ops mission to stall the Dropship’s takeoff. Don’t want to risk it without their ok. If they okay it, get Sjalbrenna and Lojtnant Lundmark up here.”

After a few minutes waiting, Sgt. Sato  reports to Kapten Bjornsen, "There are no assets in the area capable of an airstrike against the Dropship. And they don't recommend the spec ops mission. It's open terrain and there are battle armor units around the Dropship. "

Kapten Bjornsen sighs, "Of course. it's got to be the hard way. Have the attack force move out, double-time. We have to try to catch them off guard."

“Adept Johnsen I have readings from the sensors in sector 278-279.”
The adept walks over to the consol. “Show me what you have.” Looking over the screen
“It looks to be a large force by the readings from the sensors.”
“Yes but we cannot tell what they are. The seismic sensors are picking up to many different vehicles to ID them.” Looking over at the duty roster. “Comms get the Garden Gnomes on the move to check this out.”
“Command to Adept Allen, we have a sensor contact sector 278-279 you are to take your unit and see just what is out that way.”
“Roger command. Do we have any idea just what may be in the sector?”
“Something large that. The seismic sensor cannot give us a good ID on.”
“Do we think it is hostile?”
“With all that is going on, until you know otherwise treat it as such.”
“Copy that command.” Adept Allen switches to his units comms. “OK people time to go to work. Command has a seismic contact in sector 278-279 and we get to find out what it is. Roberts, Smith keep your crew back a bit in case this turns hot.”
“Copy that boss.”
“OK let’s do this people.”

The following message is sent on a Saturday and Flagged High Priority

To:  Captain Bonanno, Major Cranson, Colonel Grayjoy, Tai-i Roads and Kapten Bjomsen
Cc: All procurement officers of same commands
From: Major Franks
Re: Supply Lines and restock

Gentlemen,
As always you have my complements and esteemed respect.

After extensive conversations and meetings with my individual staff and procurement officer I am sending this priority message to you all.

Given the current and disturbing situation underway at this time, we must seriously consider the great possibility that off world supply lines maybe gravely affected for the conceivable future.

With this in mind, I am strongly urging and recommending all of you utilize 15 to 20 % of your available cash funds to immediately place a supply order for any and all parts, equipment, armor, munitions etc. (Clan items for the diamond sharks included), that this honorable planet cannot supply us.

If we do a mass order we will most likely get better prices and we need to do this ASAP.

For myself I am compiling an order for my individual command that will utilize slightly more than 20 % of my available cash; however my personal command maybe larger than some of yours.

   If you wish to partake in a mass order with me you MUST do the following by END OF BUSINESS THIS FRIDAY;
(As I am planning on placing the order(s) the first thing Monday of next week.)

1.    Inform me of the percentage of funds you will be flagging for your order (anywhere from 15 to 20% or more)
2.   have your procurement officers compile your supply list based on the amount of funds you are committing above
3.   send you list, or deliver it via secured courier to my procurement officer by end of business Friday
4.   All who partake in this mass order will have their procurement officers working together with my procurement officer to compile and place the order(s) to our off world suppliers, and breakdown the deliveries to ensure all get what they ordered as the supplies come in.
5.    All funds flagged for the mass order of these supplies are to be placed in a secured purchasing fund over the weekend for your order to be included and to ensure the final payments can be made when the orders are received.

Again I cannot express enough my strong feeling that this is extremely necessary so that we can ensure that we are able to fulfill the obligations of our contracts to this esteemed world.

                        With my upmost respect,
                        Major Franks

I'll be sending my Quartermaster to you, personally, to deliver our list of needed parts. His name is Natanael Quist.

I don't have the same amount of available cash as most of you probably do, so i'm going to seed 50% of my available cash. I really need part of this order to go through, so i'm probably gonna end up still being short.

Kapten-

Following conversations with my civilian counterparts, I'll be utilizing any monies that can be spared.  If you come up short, I will try and assist, if you give me some idea as to how short you end up being.  I don't yet have a chief quartermaster, so I'll be representing the Warriors directly.

Thank you, Major, for the suggestion,

Tai-i Rhodes,

Thank you, but I probably will focus on immediate needs, so I'll keep my requests small. I also decided to utilize more of my commands funds, when my quartermaster reminded me of the normal costs of certain items i may need. As a less technologically progressive command, except for a couple of things, I can get by mostly the stuff made on planet. I will thank you for your consideration, and hope I will not need it.

At the space port it appears another mercenary has arrived on the Rock. Adorned in a unifying paint scheme of  a black so dark and deep that it reflects blue in the sun's light. No signifying ranks, highlights or regalia. The ship's manifest lists them as personnel and equipment of Loyalty Forsaken. Based on their visible equipment they could be from anywhere in the Inner Sphere.  Morningstar ,Goblin, Yellow Jacket, Badger, Bandit, an antiquated Cobra VTOL, 2 Wolfhounds, a plethora of Inner Sphere Battle Armor. Some unusual equipment becoming visible now an Ajax and a Mantueffel. What is that mech, it appears to have a fresh paint job?. Our sources just informed that the battlemech is a Chimera, wait there seems to be a mean and ugly quad battlemech, with what appears to be a very large gaping maw of a cavern posing as the muzzle of a weapon. Our sources inform me the quad battlemech is a Barghest. Upon a better inspection the wolfhounds, Ajax, Mantueffel, Morningstar, and Barghest all bare scars from repairs which from this untrained eye were some pretty horrendous and savage fighting.

"Kapten Bjornsen, sir. There's been an update on the unit led by Lojtnant Mikelson, but i don't think you're going to be all happy." Sergeant Sato sighs and passes the communique to the Kapten.

Marius sighs, and reads the communique. When he gets to the part that details the damage to the friendly forces, he slams his fist on the table, "How in damnation is Mikelson ruining his mech!" Bjornsen sighs and mutters to himself, "Damn mech jockeys, they need to learn the costs of the damage to their units. C-bills don't grow on trees."

Kapten Bjornsen grabs for his base phone, and calls the tech team, "Hey Odden, get your team ready to roll, we got some salvage coming back, along with several injured vehicles and mechs."
