Although the NWP may well be cancelled within the next few weeks, the Khan's of Clan Snow Raven have pressed on to get one last design out and this is a 'frigate'.  The design is to suppliment or replace the Congress class vessel as well as the Sovetskii Soyuz class cruiser which is still grossly undergunned for a vessel of its size.

Design peramiters (please note that again this is Pre REVIVAL, so no HAGs etc);

Displacement - No more than 760,000 tons
Speed - 3/5 minimum, 4/6 desired.
Fuel - 6000 tons minimum.
Aerospace compliment - 10 fighters minimum and at least 5 small craft
Dropship capacity - 2 minimum.
Cargo capacity - 90,000 tons
LF Battery is needed
As is a Large NCSS and mobile HPG.
A compliment of Marines/Elementals is to be carried
Hull strength and protection are to be suitable for a vessel her size as is armament.
With the risk of facing Dark Caste bandits, anti-fighter weapons are needed as is anti-missile defences.


(As always, i'm not looking for perfection, if she has heat troubles then she has them, if you want to put a single heavy naval gauss in the bow to 'deal' with pesky Dark Caste settlements go for it, make it interesting :) )

The specs clearly make this out to be a ship designed for a lot of detached duty, so I gave it the load-out to match - pure energy weaponry, aside from the AMS(because, while LAMS technically pre-date Revival, they don't do so by a big enough margin to justify using them), and those have a mountain of ammo. Also, I focused more on crew comforts than usual, installing large grav decks and giving all crew members first-class accommodations. The actual guns are fairly light for a ship this size - quad HNPPC mounts in the corners and quad NL55 mounts on the nose/aft/broadsides - but it's still relatively sturdy and the heavy PPCs give it the ability to threaten even big ships at long ranges.

Your copy seems to be missing some stuff - notably the bays.  I can tell you included them in your build due to the bay personnel but it's missing in what you copied over from the sheet.

If you are using my sheet, the bays have to be added manually to the copy/paste sections from the TRO workup tab. Because they can be customized so much I wasn't able to make it add them automatically to that tab.

If you want, you can also delete sections that are just blank, like passengers you didn't add, or grav decks you don't have.

While it probably won't stand up well against a front line warship, the galleon was designed to keep the dark caste in line. Built for long duration missions with easily maintained laser arrays. It's only ammo dependence is in the capital missile launchers it uses sparingly, but to devastating effect when needed. Laser arrays were chosen for their ability to use AA mode and bracketing fire. Despite their low power output, it was deemed that masses of them were sufficient to hold of any concerted attack by dark caste or other periphery nations. This is backed up by an array of micro pulse lasers, which are used in PDS mode most often, to shoot down enemy missiles. These are divided into small bays each of which can target a separate missile. While this coverage is not as comprehensive as an antimissile system would provide, it was deemed worth while due to it's lack of ammunition dependence, and it's ability to engage any small craft that might try a boarding action or other vessels that stray too close for comfort.

It not only carries a small fighter screen, but also five full stars of battle armored marines, ensuring that once it has taken control of an area, no one will interfere with clan personnel while n-site. Backing them up are five small craft and four DropShips, which can provide either more cargo, a ground attack force, or more aerospace firepower.

With it's long duration in mind, full quarters were  installed for most bay personnel, including marines, pilots, and small craft crew. This leaves more quarters in the bays themselves for the technical crew, either for more of them, or for more space for the small number of them. Five grav decks measuring 250 meters each round out the accommodations on-board the vessel. This are often used for keeping the elementals in shape, but also serves to provide recreation for the rest of the crew as well.

2 small quibbles:

First, Alsadius, LAMS are not available during revival, they exist in the prototype stage, but don't enter true production until near the end of the Jihad.

Second, Cryhavok, a similar issue with Micro Lasers of all kinds, they don't enter production until near the end of the Jaguars - apparently coinciding with the production of Protomechs.

Just replace them for the same number of small lasers then, and refit to micro pulse lasers at the appropriate time.

Ah, I checked Sarna and they said 3045 for experimental, in production by 3048. It's tight, but it could be doable on the right pre-Revival ship. That said, I used traditional AMS for that reason.

Unfortunately Sarna isn't always the best place for minutia references - some things get retconned, or are misinterpreted by whoever adds it and enough new stuff is added with each book that occasionally the minutiae escapes an editor (I'll note it's still a good place to look, but you should always double check the references).  Interstellar Operations has the most canonical references for introduction dates, and often Tactical Operations has a good start (in TO's case, LAMS doesn't actually have an "introduction date").

A full report for Laser AMS are R&D began in 3045 by Clan Wolf, Clan Wolf started producing prototypes of the weapon in 3048, then Clan Wolf started true production circa 3079, and it still doesn't become "common" until 3145.

Your B14 improvement is good. On J2 I can't use the Unique function though, because it needs to show weapons broken down by location and/or bay. I did add the defensive to them though, so it will show defensive bays on there. I did the same for the Ammo.

I am not implementing the V2 change though. Launch bays and cargo Bays need to be assigned and set up with doors, tossing them in the general equipment section is unacceptable to me. This is why they aren't already in there. Because you can arrange them however you want, limited only by the number of bays and the number of doors, it has too much customization needed to add to an auto-generating section like this.

You are of course free to make any changes you want to your own sheet  :)

Whoops, I think I gave the wrong formula for J2. There shouldn't be a Unique() there.

As for doors, those seem less relevant to me for most purposes. But if you want to have them incorporated, add them to the weapons list in a similar way to ammo - Bay Battle Armor Door, Bay Conventional Infantry Door, and so on. Then have "Door" type show up in the same list as bays. Whoops, I think I gave the wrong formula for J2. There shouldn't be a Unique() there.

As for doors, those seem less relevant to me for most purposes. But if you want to have them incorporated, add them to the weapons list in a similar way to ammo - Bay Battle Armor Door, Bay Conventional Infantry Door, and so on. Then have "Door" type show up in the same list as bays. Currently the spreadsheet tells you how many you can have, and lets you tell it how many you do have. And of course calculates the cost of that.

The problem comes up because there are a near infinite ways to set up your bays. For example, say you have your ship with 10,000 tons of cargo, 100 fighters, 20 small craft and 100 battle armor, and 20 doors.

You could do a something fairly standard and have the cargo with one bay and 2 doors, the battle armor in one bay with a door, the small craft in a bay with 2 doors, and the fighters in a bay with 10 doors. Or you could have 10 bays each with 1000 cargo, 10 fighters, 2 small craft, 10 battle armor, and 2 doors. They bays don't have to even have doors evenly allocated to them. And you can do that in literally any combination of doors and bays you can think of. It is far, far easier to just write out how each of those bays is on your own. Every method I could think of ended up being a lot clunkier than writing them out.

Finally submitting my design for the frigate, core built around the Aegis', but so different it is basically designed from the ground up.  Double the standard magazine sizes for the few non-energy based weapons, full technical crew for the ASF and SC with all of them assigned better-than-bay quarters.  And nearly a full cluster of warriors on board - 2 binaries ASF, 1 binary SC, 2 trinaries BA.
