Did a re-watch of Child of Man (with Clive owen), and thought to myself..  GEE>  Did the makers of that (short lived) TV show "The Lottery", watch that film for inspiration?

Caught a pair of older ones this evening..

First was Mad Money, with Queen latifa...  STILL a good laugh.
And The time machine, the version with Guy Pierce in..  Always wondered.  With the knowledge had, could he have backtracked BACK to where the lunar mission was doing that explosion thinggy, to have STOPPED them from detonating it, and ruining both the moon AND the planet?

Bootleg foreign film... mostly splicing various scenes from the first with new dialogue. Pretty bad really, like a porn kung-fu dubbed. Just horrible dialogue spliced with some modest nudity and really bad acting with some martial arts thrown in to cheesy it up a bit. Sad it's more of a pocket change budget. Think of the old style Shawn-O-Scope films on the El Rey cable channel. Or the really bad dubbed 70s Chinese ones.

Might be hard to find... my copy is still on VHS... but I do recommend Zombie Kung-Fu, it's cheaply made but still B rated  enough to laugh at stupidity.

speaking of b movies i still think that around 1952 to about 1964 was the best when it came to b movies
70s had some gems and early 80s but after that it was meh who cares...
my all time faves are forbbiden planet pretty much any monster flick with godzilla  rocky horror picture show and trancers
but hey its me...
and that little window between 1974 to 1981 any kung fu flick from hong kong with that awful english language dub...the pain ...ohhh the pain

Forbidden Planet wasn't a B-Movie.  It had a high production value and a good script.

Pain? It's pure torture when you have a British accented Kung-Fu flick. Going as far as I have over 100 collective foreign Kung-Fu Zombie movies, most dubbed or sub-titles.

All Quiet on the Western Front (1979)
We hear that there are tumults and riots in Rome, and that voices are raised concerning the army and the quality of our soldiers. Make haste to reassure us that you love and support us as we love and support you, for if we find that we have left our bones to bleach in these sands in vain, then beware the fury of the legions.

Try watching the British Hong Kong dub of Transformers Masterforce.    :bang:
They just blindly applied the names from the American toys, so there is a Japanese emigrant, living in America named Optimus Prime, a boy who grew up on a jungle island named Hosehead...

When I was in high school, we had a Polish exchange student one year who talked about watching American shows in Poland.  Star Trek had entire episodes dubbed by a single person.

Polish dubbing is a meme on it's own, people watch it just to experience the terrible job the dubber does. My first encounter was when watching With Fire and Sword, where Ukrainians were terribly dubbed by single guy, while their talk could still be somewhat heard under the voiceover. And then I found this is not a singular failiure, but a norm for Poles. I'm glad they subtitle foreign films and series here, they tried to pass the law requiring dubbing of everything, but it was pulled amongst overwhelming mockery and derision.
Shoot first, laugh later.

No... Blues Clues in french, my daughter is trying to learn it. My son OTOH, is trying to learn spanish, he's 16 dating a latino. Nothing wrong but the butchery of him trying to speak a language this late... she puts up with him, for now. My spanish is alot better, I think he does it to sound pathetic to get comfort from her... like the age old arm around a girl in a dark movie theater! What we did or are doing for lovery these days... god we're old.

Shin Godzilla

Godzilla movie directed by Hideaki Anno (creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion) and having take on King of the Monsters that's unrelated to OG one from 1954 or to any other version of legendary monster in that matter. It has that Anno's touch that makes it unique with lot of time dedicated to Japanese government talking about how they should deal with Godzilla. Also Godzilla in Shin Godzilla is among most OP versions of legendary mnsters alongside with one from Planet of Monsters anime movies. IIRC Anno has aid that he will direct possible sequel only if he is asked to do so but otherwise he isn't interested.

Just watched Hotel Artemis on Amazon Prime.  It was filled with cliches and over-used tropes from beginning to end.  OK viewing, all in all, but I had hoped for something a little better.

Wonder Woman: Bloodlines

DC animated movie focused on Wonder Woman. One of two and one from post-Flashpoint era as they referenced Justice League: WAR. It's rare for DC animated movies not to be focused on Batman or Superman. Especially Batman because DC and WB really loves to milk Batman.

The animated stuff is a little better at including stuff beyond those two, but yeah, the focus is heavy.
