I mean, when you look at the plastic ones, they don't look as detailed as the metal ones. Maybe it's just the images I've been seeing, I haven't seen any of the new plastic ones "in hand"...so I can't give an honest impression of them.

I sincerely hope they are just as detailed as people have said, I really do...but for myself, I'll stick to metal. Just something about the weight of them, and maybe a little nostalgia when I think back to my first mech purchases in the mid 80's. For me, plastic just doesn't cut it, but I know a LOT of people that love them.

So it just all comes down to preferences. I'm not knocking them at all...I just can't see the detail clearly enough in pics as I'm more of a hands on kind of guy unless there's glaring errors, then I will call it out! LOL

I respect your opinion.

But there is one thing that makes these Lance Packs interesting to me: Price tag.

Sadly I don't have any pictures to prove it to you, but the best way I can explain their quality is this: Remember the Trebuchet and Catapult from the older sets? The current ones are on the exact same level as the metal ones. Even the missile racks. O0

I was referring to the ones from the intro box sets just prior to this last release, actually. The 25th Anniversary box and the release just after it.

The box set comes with 16 mechs plus 2 special mech  for $50. That is a good price for all that.

Though I guess that at this point, we just have to accept that the Victor Poop-Squat is officially an institution... ;)
Victor: "I have an AC/20 for an arm. I can poop squat where I please."

They look nice, plus it feels good to have a reinforcements-like pack coming up.

I'm thinking a plastic Victor is going to be a whole lot easier to repose than a metal one.

at the very least cutting through the AC barrel to liberate it from the legs (it is built off the single piece from the lance pack) will be easier.

I am happy to hear about the next reprinting of the Introductory Box and the  new Lance packs.  I wish we see something soon in new PDF's .   I can say the new stories at Battlecorps is just curbing the addiction.

Hopefully the dry period will end next week when origins happens.  However, for some reason I keep thinking were going end up waiting t'ill GeneCon.

As side note, Gaming Trade Magazine's June issue #172 had noted some CGL releases they allege are coming out in August (pages 18 and 20).

I'm not going say what they are, because it will generate be too much crazy talk on online.  I REALLY doubt their coming out (least 1 of them) when they say they are, since they've been known get dates and products wrong.

I can see Alpha Strike and the Anthology as being realistic but as for IO unless Adrian Gideon was blowing smoke when I asked him about the beta rules a month or two ago then it is not coming out any time soon. I would love to be wrong but I doubt I will be.

I'm only seeing CGL products on page 17 here, are we looking at the same thing?  I don't know about the Shadowrun side, but otherwise the one thing that jumps out is IO, no idea why that's there.

Lots of CGL product across the board, but IO would be a surprise.
