And that's my point. The Coyotes patterned the Coyotl after Mercury II's captured during the Annihilation at Barbados. They didn't even bother changing the armor molds. Project Phoenix made more changes to the affected mechs than the Coyotes did when they transitioned it to the omnimech Coyotl. But since you butterflied the Annihilation away, no Annihilation, no isorla. With the limited but more brutal engagements trials tend to be, less chances of any intact salvage as well. If it's not the Wolverines who'd first deploy omnis, it would be one of the other Clans feuding with the Wolverines who are getting increased chances of salvage.

and the Wolverines took a beating so they would have a lot projects that had to be done but little to do it with. they would have to stick with what they knew worked till a lot of those other projects where done. that might have delayed the Wolverines from development of radical Omni tech for some time. this would allowed other clans to catch up.

5 Wolverine jumpships (2 Invader, 1 Merchant, 1 Scout, 1 Leviathan) arrived at a pirate point and launched all dropships.

The McKenna was the first ship boarded. The former Jaguar ship though heavily damaged was deemed salvagable. it took a week to move her to a pirate point.

The trial was brutal with close to two full clusters of Omni's strewn about. Khan Cameron, his Kingfisher A missing 40% of its armor, found khan Moon's Gargoyle Prime. Khan Cameron let loose his ER PPC and LBX-10 at the right side of Khan Moon's Omni and was pleased to see his right arm explode and his remaining autocannon ammo shredd the right torso.

Khan Moon was being cooked, his engine was throwing off massive heat meaning an engine hit was the problem, and the rad alarm was sounding meaning radiation was leaking also, down to his left arm LBX-5, Small ER Laser. The Empty thud of the LBX reload alarmed him as the Wolverine Khan began to fire again.

Khan Cameron watched as the Gargoyle ripped itself apart, seeing no escape pod launch he knew the trial was over.

Although the Mckenna was a prize beyond measure, it would still take almost an estimated 5-7 years to repair her to fighting trim. 1 of the Avatars, The Silver Claw, was missing huge chunks of armor but surprisingly her KF drive was undamaged the estimated repair time was 5 months. The other Avatar could be salvaged but her time was a year plus. The Aegis was mauled and her drive was iffy. she and the Avatar would be jumped to a Cache and stored. Of the 2 Congress one would be scrapped to rebuild the other. The 2 vincents were surprisingly the least of the rebuilding 4 months each.

Star Colonel Linn was stunned to see 4 stars of 'Mechs advancing toward his position. His force of 3 'Mech stars, 1 1/2 armor star and 3 points of infantry left to fight with. Consulting his Star Captains, Star Colonel Linn contacted the Wolverine Commander.

Star Colonel Linn's Champion danced with Hallis's Maruader in the final battle. Linn had scored minor hits on Hallis's left leg and left torso doing minor damage while the twin PPC's of the Maruader scalded and melted the champions armor like butter.
two hours later Linn's Champion minus most of it right side and Hallis's Maruader minus its left arm and a frozen left knee actuator, Hallis radioded

"Star Colonel you have fought well and brave but it ends now."

Linn saw the right arm come up and the AC swivel toward his mech, turning to his right to present his Mechs left side and putting the Mech to a jog, Linn hoped to minimize the damage. The PPC glanced his left side with enough force to forcefully twist his to the left as the AC pummeled his upper left torso and stitched across the cockpit.

Star Colonel Hallis watched Linn desprate manuver presentinting his left side and going into a run. As he started he fired the PPC striking just behind the left arm, forcing the Mech to twist left as he fired his Autocannon. He watched in horror as the shells walked across the torso and into the cockpit.
Star Colonel Linn saw the shell explode outside his cockpit then his world exploded as two shells penetrated his cockpit.
He felt his left arm go numb, his cooling vest ripping under the shrapnel barrage and his instruments exploding.

Star Colonel Hallis saw the cockpit of the champion explode as two shells ripped into it. The Champion stumbled and crashed into the ground caving the left torso and crushing the remains of the left arm.

"Medics and Salvage teams to the Champion NOW!" roared Star Colonel Hallis.
After 4 days of intense combat the Fox Provisional Galaxy was defeated. Star Colonel Linn was killed as his cockpit was breached by AC fire from Star Colonel Hallis weapon pod. all remaining Mechs were claimed as isorla and any and all warriors and infantry were taken to work on rebuiling destroyed towns and made the lowest of the low.
The rest of 2842 was spent quietly rebuilding the destroyed towns on Circe. For Clan Woverine the salvage of the Burrock's forces completey rebuilt the heavily damaged clusters. Clan Blood Spirit was able to salvage the Lola III "Star Glory" with aid from Clan Wolverine the ship was able to jump to York along with the Blood Fury.
2843 was a quite year for the Wolverines, no raids from the burrocks as they tried to rebuild their lost galaxy. Clan Wolf left us alone except to occasionally to try to get the specs to the Pulverizer, Stag I, II and Mercury II. We lost our technical superiority when the specs to the EER PPC fell to Clan Hell Horses in March.
2844-249 were the best years for the wolverines, for five short years we had peace and quite from our neighbors and enemies. Alpha Galaxy was restored to full status after the long lull. Beta Galaxy was reduced to 60% operational status following the hectic years after our culling of the Not Named Khans. Delta lost a cluster due to a misjump of their jumpship. Epsilon Galaxy was operational with 2 clusters. With the Wolverine yards fully operational blueprints were drawn up for a New corvette to replace the aging Vincent.
blueprints were still being worked on for the new corvette, a new variant came online for the Wolverine Mech, all Wolverine Galaxies were rebuilt to full strength, Star Colonel Hallis hero of the defense of Circe won the Khanship. Adolph Cameron won the Sakhan position.

Clan Wolverine was formed along with the others just befroe the campaign to retake the Pentagon worlds. Along with Clan Snow Raven, we were ordered to attack the planet Circe. The fiercest fighting took place at Constan's Ridge. The Clans were victorious, but the Ravens took heavy losses. He declared the Cache the property of all the Clans, ordering the Wolverines to share the war materiel with their hostile neighbors, the Snow Ravens. This was particularley insulting to Khan McEvedy, because the Cache contained the equipment of the 331st Royal BattleMech Division, her father's command.
The Wolverines demanded a Trial of Refusal, but lost. It was then that Khan Sarah McEvedy
began to plan breakaway from Nicholas Kerensky and his "dream" of a new society. Two Galaxy Commanders dissented and soon challenged Khan McEvedy and SaKhan Franklin Hallis right to lead the Clan down a road of destruction. After the death of the former un-named Khans, Khan Cameron and SaKhan DeChavilier reaved the McEvedy and Hallis Bloodcount to 11 each. Quickly rebuilding the shattered touman by disbanding the Epsilon and Delta Clusters and recruiting from the captured SLDF rebels, Alpha Galaxy, Beta Galaxy and Gamma Galaxy were brung back to full strength within two months. Taking a cue from Clan Blood Spirit, Clan Wolverine gathered men and material to scout out new worlds and possible sites for new colonies and materials. Collaberation with Clan Blood Spirit reached a new high when the planet Foster was colonized by that clan and Clan Wolverine, in the spirit of clan law, staged a trial for a portion of that planet. After setting up a small colony and mining station, a rebuilt Epsilon Cluster was stationed there. Soon Clan Burrock was attacking any and all Clan Blood Spirit shipping as well as Clan Wolverine shipping. Things went bad to worse when a weak Clan Blood Spirit ceded their enclave to Clan Fire Mandrill. The Burrocks did not cease their attacks on our vessels and soon sent clusters to attack the settlements directly. We responded by sending two warships and another Cluster to help the beliguered Epsilon Cluster. Khan Richard Cameron took stock of the Clan. 750 soon to be 1yr olds were adding to the sibko programs midwife's toil. another 137 newborn would be added with the next several months. Khan Richard also looked at the Clans Omni Programs A new 30 ton omni was set to be put in production with 5 units produced monthly (Magfly)*. A 60 ton omni (Wotan) prototype has already cleared trials and was set to be brought online within the next month. A good selection of Salvage had allowed the Summoner, Hellbringer, Kit Fox and Kingfisher omni to be copied and built. He also ordered the Grimore class construction to end, seeing that the original need for the ship to be met.

Circe Local Orbit

The Kenneth McEvedy Grimore class from the ground looked like a shooting star as it plummeted planetside. Not more than an hour ago she and her sister ships were preparing for battle against a joint Smoke Jaguar/Burrock force vying to punish the Wolverines. The Jaguar Texas Battleship and two congress along with 2 Burrock Essex's and 2 Vincents came to Circe to inflict damage on the Wolverines however they could. 2 stars of Grimore's stood tall with one (the Kenneth McEvedy) plunging into the planet's ocean. 4 more Grimore's were outright destroyed in space while mauling 1 Essex, 2 Vincent's and 1 Congress. 5 Grimore's remained after the Burrock's left the field of battle. Clan Smoke Jaguar tried to press the attack with the Texas but two of the Grimore's got to her aft and began to pummel it. A six Grimore was shattered as the Texas boosted her engines and began to make for the nadir point. The Circe Defense Fleet was gutted after a 14 hr duel but held the field of battle at the end, a pyrrhic victory. Clan Jaguar and Burrock ships would be repaired but that would take months and for two ships years.

No enemy destroyed or captured, a bloody battle.
But still a victory. O0
